I sent my save-the-dates this afternoon and didn’t really think about the stamps until I got them. I swear this woman gave me the ugliest stamps on purpose. They were really bad hawaiian shirts! But that’s what they had for postcard stamps and I didn’t want to wait any longer to send them *sigh*
I preemtively purchased the “wedding roses” stamps online so I have them for the invitations later. I don’t plan on running into this issue again! haha

@PinkAndPearls2013: I didn’t even think about stamps when I sent stuff out. The Hawaiian shirts sound funny! No one really notices the stamps anyways and the envelopes will just end up in the trash anyways.

That sucks! Hawaiian shirts?! WHY DO WE HAVE A STAMP OF THAT?!
I’m partial to the bonsai trees they had awhile back.

Eh, nobody will notice or care. It’s all about what’s inside the envelope. We got fancy modern art stamps for our invites (wedding was at a modern art museum) and nobody noticed or mentioned it.

I really don’t think anyone other than the bride cares about the stamps. For my cousin’s wedding and save the dates, she spend a fortune getting custom stamps from zazzzle. I thought it was a waste of money. We will just be using whatever stamps the post office provides.

Nobody looks and/or cares about stamps.

I never would have thought about stamps, but my mom works for the USPS so she already bought a ton of Love Ribbon stamps, very classy and romantic. I like the wedding flowers too, those were my second choice.

@EffieTrinket: They still have those, but they aren’t postcard stamps. 😉 I used those for our STDs. 🙂

hahahaha I might order some for my invites. For the save the dates, I got dogs. I was hoping for the butterflies again but no such luck

@PinkAndPearls2013: If you sent postcards, the Hawaiian shirt ones are currently the only postcard stamps available through the USPS

@Brideonabudgetlauren: @crayfish: I don’t have any envelopes, I made them as postcards so they were cheaper. But I’m sure everyone here is right and that no one will actually care about the stamp anyway 🙂

@FutureMrsWeston: I didn’t realize they were the only ones at all! I just thought they were the only ones that my particular post office had on hand.

I think we got… racoons? Foxes? That was all that was available when we sent out ours. (darn 1/8 oz overweight!)
Post # 15
@red_pepper_gal: My Save-the-Dates were racoons.

Haha, I’m totally in the same boat: I had to succumb to those ugly stamps yesterday!! They’ve had the Hawiaan Shirt stamps out for a while now; I was waiting to see if they would release something else in the winter but they didn’t so when I bought stamps yesterday I sucked it up and got the shirts.It wasn’t worth it for me to buy more expensive postage, and even though I don’t like them I know my guests won’t be looking at the postage anyway: plus, it’s going to get the postage markings over it and barely look discernable as a (ugly) shirt anyway!
