We’re only 2 months pregnant yet I find myself devoting more and more time to getting our papers into the file cabinet and eliminating clutter. Not sure what to think about this one…
When did the nesting instinct hit you?

It hasn’t yet 🙁 I’m almost 32 weeks and really wish I would have done more when I still had 2nd Trimester energy. I’m literally requiring a 2hr minimum nap daily to just get by with normal functioning abilities. I’m hoping it hits soon though and I can get some stuff done before we get overloaded from stuff at our shower.

@LpCutiPie: Don’t worry! Keep your spirits up. Maybe you and your hubby can knock it out in like an hour on a Saturday or something?

We’re not doing anything to the room other than blowing in some soundproofing on one wall. I figure I won’t do much more until about 2 months out. I don’t want to spend money for the next 6 months for crap I don’t really need.

Yeah I’m a slacker-Mommy-to-Be too. I finally registered this weekend because my girlfriend hosting the shower said she was going to send out invites in the next couple of weeks.
I’m going to let March be my getting ready for baby month. Although I did clean out the closet in his room, which I thought was very generous of me, I was using it for shoe-storage. 🙂

@LpCutiPie: I’m with you on that- almost 33 weeks, and other than having occasional fits of nagging my husband about all the things we have to do, we haven’t done a thing (unless you count acquiring baby stuff as gifts and shoving it all in closets). My mom is coming up for a weekend in March and I’m hoping that her presence and help will get us going!

Really, already?!! i was too exhausted to do anything in my first trimester.
I actually think that nesting comes from the fact that the end of pregnancy is TOTALLY boring and you are just sitting around your house looking for things to do. I started becoming a cleaning/organizing machine around 30 weeks but I swear it has more to do with being bored than anything else. Regarding getting baby’s stuff organized-I don’t really consider that “nesting”. It *has* to be done. Organizing my three closets is seasonal/color order falls under what I think of when I think of nesting. ANYWAY…I know you didn’t ask for our opinions on nesting but there is mine!
If you are nesting now…good luck! it’s a LOOOONG 40 weeks! My advice would be to relax. =)

For me it’s gone in stages. DH and I are not the neatest people and tend to allow piles to grow. I’m pretty much able to live with it until I get in a mood and need it all cleaned up right now! DH has been great at humoring me and helping me to clean and organize. I haven’t gone crazy buying stuff (it’s all from the shower and clothes we bought 2nd hand from a cute shop in town) but I more just want the place organized and tidy. We’ve only been in our house since August, and we’re still finding a place for everything. I’m almost 37 weeks and it’s really been the last couple weeks where I’ve really wanted things to be organized and neat, so that we are ready. I think when you get closer to the end, you are more focused on always being ready because you can go anytime.
