- Wedding: June 2014
FI and I aren’t positive we’ll be able to fit a videographer in our budget. Right now, we can afford a videographer OR a honeymoon, but he’s up for a big promotion that would allow us to do both (although it would require a relocation for us, so I’d have to quit my job, find a new one, and have enough vacation time for a honeymoon).
Anyway, a while back I found a videographer on wedding wire and I fell in love. His prices were reasonable for our area (and in our price range!), his sample videos were amazing, professional/non-cheesy website, great reviews, etc, etc, etc. I’ve been stalking his website and FB ever since then for new videos. So on Wednesday I finally decide I’m going to contactl this guy and just see if he’s available still. If he isn’t, then I need to cut myself off from his website, cold turkey.
So I fill out his website’s contact form, introducing myself, FI, and our wedding, and complimenting his work, mentioning specifics – really just showing how much I liked his work, and, of course, asking if he’s available.
Last night I get an email back (and the email is KidsName_Daddy@provider.com) that says “Hi. My associate Dave can. His number is 123-1234. Should be open. Yours, Videographer’s Name”.
Uh, what?! Like, I was obsessed with this guy and now I’m so turned off. First of all, get a new, professional email address. Secondly, what does that email even mean? That’s he’s not available? Who is this associate? Is it someone he works with normally, or just another videographer he’s recommending?
I’m so bummed!
