Apparently it's okay to post photographs of real dead horses in threads?  Why is this type of behavior deemed acceptable?!  I'm all for free speech, and open debate, but REALLY I have no desire to see disgusting pictures posted in drama threads.  I'm shocked that even though this particular post has been flagged, it still has not been removed.  Come on people, keep it classy here.  You may not see anything wrong with it, but really, not everyone wants to see that kind of stuff.  Please don't continue with this type of immature behavior.  Thanks.

I am writing a post now about the recent flamewars.

There has been unacceptable behavior lately, and we need to work together to decide how to address it.  More soon.

@MandaMack: sorry, but i'm not going to direct you to it.  no more drama.

@mrbee: thanks mr. bee for your attention to this type of behavior.  I hope we can all work together to keep WB the postivie place it should be.

I was honestly just surprised...I guess I've been really good at avoiding posts that lead to drama, but I haven't seen any lately (nevermind gross pictures). Then again I spend most my time in the fitness, DIY, and recap boards!

I saw the thread. It made me uncomfortable even though it was meant "in good fun".

Just an illustration of an old phrase that I think should be retired.

I also find this disgusting.  I certainly didn't find it funny like the poster meant for it to be.

@MandaMack: I understand!  I just didn't want to give the thread any more publicity.

With 7 pages and counting, I'm sure you guys clicked into the thread (seems like everyone did), but probably didn't see the pic since it was on one of the last pages.

WB is starting to get gross, and that's just sad!

@KatNYC2011: I obviously didn't see the humor, especially since it was a photograph, not just a drawing/illustration.

I agree. These drama posts make me want to leave WB. I love looking at peoples weddings and getting advice but its not worth it when everything turns into a fight. I'm on another wedding board and its amazing! Everyone is so nice and I have never once seen a fight on there. I will not mention the name of it in case some drama people want to ruin it.

I'm with you. I saw it and though I knew she was trying to be funny, I didn't appreciate the humor that time.

Glad Mr. Bee is gathering his thoughts for a post. There are a few posters who just make every post about their heated ettiquette war and I'm a little annoyed at reading it in every thread. It was old after the first thread it appeared in.

@simplifiedbride: Yup... I didn't see the humor either. In fact I cringe every time that phrase is used. Too many years of being an equestrian I guess. Brings back the sadness I felt reading Black Beauty.

That is a photoshop photo. It's probably not a real dead horse and the guys from Office Space did not beat it.

@2PeasinaPod: it's getting to the point where there's no intellectual debate about things.  it's i'm right/you're wrong, end of story.  I think we should be able to disagree, ask questions, and get advice on the boards, but I think that it should be done in a constructive way.  I don't want everyone to agree with me, and frankly, if I'm asking for advice, I'm requesting different opinions/perspectives.  It's too bad there's a handful of people here who don't know how to interact with others over the internet.

@Miss Tattoo: the key to your phrase here is probably.  frankly, we don't know whether or not that was a real dead horse, but it was a photograph of one, even if it was 'shopped to add in the boys from office space.  Just because they weren't the ones beating it, doesn't mean I wanted to see a picture of a dead horse (photoshopped, or otherwise).

Okay being the totally nosy person I am... of course I had to go snoop out the post and I found it. I kind of don't get making a whole other thread to express your displeasure though. If you felt the need to say something, a pm or in that thread would seem more appropriate. Because honestly that wasn't a topic I cared enough about to click on the first time until you brought it up and got me all curious.... so you really ARE giving the thread more publicity.

And re: the pic itself... meh. I knew it was the guys from office space and it wasn't like a gory pic or anything. Looked to me like the horse could've just been lying down. Maybe I didn't think it was hilarious but I also didn't find it offensive.

Re drama: I think we can kind of tell which threads are going to be drama-magnets and which aren't right? I mean we can hope for the best but no one should be shocked if a thread about kids at a wedding, cash bar, any political or religious opinion, or +1s gets heated. If it bugs you, click away... thats the beauty of teh interwebs ;)

@simplifiedbride: Exactly! I was actually just on a post earlier where I didn't agree with a bee, but we had a civilized discussion about our different opinions without insulting each other or calling each other names which is how it should be.

I click on an innocent post where a bee is asking a reasonable question and you have those "I'm right and you're wrong" bees all over it again. The poor OP's thread is hijacked and never gets her question answered. They just need to give it a rest!

I don't think it was a picture of an actual dead horse. It looks like it was photo shopped. I think the movie was Office Space? Where they take a printer out and beat it. Don't get me wrong, I think it was still innappropriate, but I just wanted to clarify that I don't think it was an actual dead horse.

Yeah... thats disgusting and uncalled for. I cant even read the boards hardly anymore because of all the stupid, catty bickering and drama. Its so effing stupid. We are grown ass women, not middle schoolers.

@CorgiTales: I *think* the point of this thread was becasue the horse was being flagged as offensive but still ignored.

On the restof the stuff, I agree. Things tend to go in spurts, everything will be hunky dory for 3 weeks and then a bit dramatic for one :)

A lot of the posters I see as well have a low post count, so chances are that they hadn't had that particular debate before, but the people who are bugged by it have already seen it cycle through a couple times. Take Rings, for example, that seemed to be last weeks drama. This week is etiquette, next week wille be...

@CorgiTales: It's ok you disagree with me creating this thread.  I flagged the post hours after it was posted, and thought about PMing the poster, but because it had already been up for so many hours, they wouldn't have been able to remove it anyway.  I wanted the MODs (Mr. Bee, specifically) to see that perhaps I was not the only person disturbed by the post.

Wow, so okay. Blowing up the photo you can see the photoshop lines where the pixles weren't cleared. You can see the photoshop of the black eye for the horse. You can make anything in photoshop.

Anyway, starting a whole new thread complaining about drama is creating drama. You could have flagged the post or sent me a PM and been done with it.

I didn't think it was an actual dead horse either, and the guys in it are definitely from Office Space. It didn't occur to me that some people might think that people were actually beating a dead horse. I thought it was pretty clear it was a photoshopped movie clip, and an attempt at saying that the thread was covering the same ground over and over.

Anyway, I deleted the picture for now since so many people thought it was an actual dead horse.  If anyone would like to see it, you can just google the phrase "beating a dead horse."

    Still working on a post...

I didn't find it offensive at all.  It was obviously fake.

--I think some of the threads are getting out of control though.  Luckily we have the choice to post on them, or continue to read them.  If I see a post that is about registry and is 7 pages long, rest assured I will skip it.

    @mrbee:

I'm glad yall are addressing how unruly it's gotten around here lately... I've had to take a couple weeks away and just not post on the boards because it was getting so out of hand on a lot of threads. It got to a point where the boards were really just not enjoyable. Hopefully we can get some of the old 'camaraderie' back.

@Miss Tattoo: I'm not trying to create drama, I'm just trying to save myself and others from having to look at offensive images posted on a Wedding Forum.

Honestly, it doesn't matter to me that it was photoshopped, or taken from a popular movie.  It's disgusting, and I'd prefer not to look at it while trying to gain insight from a thread about weddings.

Well it's gone now. Happy? Obviously some people didn't find it offensive/knew it was photoshopped. So now we have to walk eggshells for the people who couldn't tell it was obviously fake?

What if I start complaining about the llama photos and that showing photos of llamas photoshopped or dressed up in crazy clothing offends me?
