@vmec:  I would wait a few more days. Your period could be late for a number of things. Stress, anxiety, health, etc.

If your period is late, a test should be positive if you took it now.

Have you been on the pill for long? Do you usually start your period as soon as the week off starts? Mine always took a few days after stopping the pill (or taking the sugar pills) for my period to start

I’ve always heard wait 5-7 days afgter you should have started so you get good results.

In the meantime, examine your recent life and health. Have you had any drastic cheanges? Stress higher than normal? Medicine changes? weight loss/gain? Has your pill made you have odd/late periods before? All of that and more can effect your period, even on the pill.

Heck, do you have a good girlfriend who is late (I kid you not, a friend of mine went though 2 hellatious weeks at work and her period was supser short because if it, 2 days vs. 5. We are synced up even with us both on the pill to the point that my period was short too and I hadn’t had a lot of stress.)

Most tests start giving accurate results on the first day of your missed period.

You should be able to test with first morning urine tomorrow, if you want!

Hmm..I never had a late period on the pill (16 years on). Mine normally started within 2-3 days of stopping the active pills. Maybe 4 days on occasion. I have had cycles where I missed multiple pills completely which would cause spotting or withdrawal bleeding mid-month and then I’d just start over with a new pack.

You should be getting accurate pregnancy test results if you have missed your period.  I’d try in the morning.

@vmec:  Maybe give it one more week?

I sometimes have late periods if I forget a day and have to double the BCP the next day, did you skip a day on accident?

@vmec:  I am super regular too due to my BC, have never been 2 days late without messing with my pills. I always get my period 4 days after my 1st placebo. The only time messing up my pill schedule effects my period is if I take the very last pill later ( like a day) than normal…

Do you think it could be anything else other than pregnancy?

@vmec:  I think testing again on Sunday is a good idea. I think I personally might be a bit hesitant to start another pack of pills without knowing for sure… (I’m a bit of a worrier though). It’s been a really long time since I did pills though, so I’m not sure how the most common ones work these days. (last time I did pills in the US was… 6-7 years ago)

You should test if you are super nervous, but my period was sometimes late on the pill. Like usually I would start on a wednesday, but some months I didn’t start until Friday. I don’t know what caused it those months.
