You mention having a decorator… Can she go to bat for you and work on getting in touch with her? I would definitely expect an answer. And a venue putting that on their Facebook is beyond insane to me. I am so sorry I hope it gets worked out!

Did they perhaps book a slightly larger event than yours since you last talked to them in that time frame?

I wouldn’t have been able to resist commenting on the status with, “erm…for my wedding? What happened to the tables and chairs that we saw?!”

I’d give her another day or so to respond, but then I wouldn’t worry about tattling to another vendor. Seems perfectly fair in this situation!

Oh no! I would really figure this out. Whether you message her privately, have your decorator contact her, or even say something on her actual post. I’m sorry this is happening!

I’m a worrier too, so I’d prepare for the worst case scenario. I’d make sure to find a vendor to provide all the tables and chairs you saw when you first visited. Get a quote and if your venue isn’t prepared for the wedding, you can give them the quote, tell them where to get what they promised you and demand that they foot the bill.

Miss.Hen:  That is ridiculous. I would try picking up the phone and calling. How far do you live from the venue? This is one of those situations where I don’t think it’s out of the question to show up and speak directly to someone about it. I had a few problems with my venue a while ago, being disorganized. When I left a message saying I was considering tanking my deposit and going elsewhere, they suddenly became very responsive and have been great ever since (also hired a new amazing wedding coordinator). You can always go to that as your last resort. Hope this helps! Good luck!!!

In times like these I also think, what is the worst case? Probably the worst case is that your decorator connects you with a last minute table and chairs rental to save the day. I realize that doesn’t sound pretty but you can always address it with the venue afterwards. It’s still possible to have the day you want!

Miss.Hen:  I’d call them and ask, she might take ages to respond.  I’d also be calling them out on how difficult they have been,  you are paying X amount of money and expect better responses. Very strange and unprofessional for her to post about it on Facebook!  Umm, contact some hire companies or other suppliers if you’re having drama! I mean where did they get the original ones from?  Weird.

How far is the venue from you? I would go down there or at the very least call and get this figured out ASAP. Even if you can rent chairs from the decorator, you’ll want to do that soon and you should address the lack of communication on their part.

Glad it all worked out in the end!
