The UK will be warmish until the end of Nov. In Dec and Jan it’s freezing and wet. However, for festivities I’d say come in Dec as there’s usually a lovely spirit, especially around London, in the run up to Christmas.

Pack your warm clothes and wellies though.

(Don’t bother with Jan)

We went to London, Amsterdam, Belgium and Paris last October for our honeymoon, and it was sooooooo cold and rainy. It was pretty much cold the entire time. I would say it’ll be even colder in Nov, Dec probably!  I dont know about you, but because we wnated to go, it wasn’t a big deal for us as we packed warm clothes.

I was going to suggest Edinburgh from late December to early January. It may be freezing but there’s lots going on (particularly over New Year) and the welcome couldn’t be warmer. Hogmanay in Edinburgh is second to none for atmosphere.

As for things being closed, it depends where you are. An awful lot of places are open between Christmas and New Year.

If you’re heading to Paris, the Louvre is open every day (except Tuesdays) other than 1 May, 25 Dec and 1 Jan and that place is a way to kill a lot of days (if you like art).

@beachbride1216:  I will say I went to the UK in July/August and it was absolutely PERFECT. I like it hot though. You could always push it back six months or so =) My husband and I did a DW and haven’t had a true honeymoon yet and it’s been four months.. Who knows, we may do it in a few months? haha

@ChuckNorris:  This is a good idea. To echo Specialsundae, Edinburgh in August is fantastic as the tattoo festical is on!

To clarify @ticatica‘s point. During August the Edinburgh International Festival, the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival (commonly know as “The Fringe”) and the Edinburgh Military Tattoo (“The Tattoo”) are all on.

The Edinburgh Tattoo Festival/Convention is in April and is a very different thing.
