Hi basically I’ve been renting my cottage for 6 months and now I am moving in with my inlaws and SO due our pregnancy and to save money.
Anyway I was recently informed that it is my responsiblity to clean the weeds out of the gutters which have been thier several years. It is not in my tenancy contract to do so, it also states I only have to have the windows cleaned where theres reasonable access. Two of the windows are small sky lights. I can not get on the roof because A. 5 month pregnant. B. the roof is full of wholes that was PROMISED in writing to be fixed before I even moved in. It never was despite to my consitancy of requests.
Every professional window cleaner I have spoken to all say the same thing, it’s against health and safety to be climbing roofs. Especially when said roof is rotton, full of wholes and has weeds growing left right and center.
I keep telling my estate agency this and they won’t listen. They have already screwed me out of £400 from my previous deposite on my property before. Where do I legaly stand?
Advice please? Also please note I exteremly strapped for cash. So can’t go to a lawyer ect.. I’m losing sleep with anxiety and don’t want it to effect baby x
