You GUYS!!!! I don't even know what to say right now i'm so excited!!! Okay so first, no, I'm not engaged as of this moment.

BUT I SAW SOMETHING THIS WEEKEND THAT I WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO SEE!! And, disclaimer, it wasn't my fault that I saw it!  ** Cliffsnote's version: see bottom of story in bold. lol.

So! BF was having this horrendous day, and this truck he just bought for work broke down and so of course I drive over to help him out/pick him up. So he actually still needed to go through all these hoops with the title, safety inspection, etc., to get it insured, which is what he was out doing in the first place, and went in to talk with the mechanic and asked me if I could scan the title over to the insurance company with this app on his phone. I start "scanning" the thing (taking a picture) and I get this text -- well, he gets this text i should say.

It's from my best friend, who is coming with her husband to stay with us over thanksgiving. All it says is, "Nov 24 to dec 2," which are the dates that they are going to be in town. Didn't really think anything of it, so I hit "close" and continue trying to scan this title.

Then another text comes. I honestly don't remember exactly what it said but it had the word "order" or something about him "ordering" something that made my brain go -- "HOLY $#!%!! Dingdingdingdingding!!!!" and, and, I don't even know if I meant to or not but I somehow manage to hit "reply" instead of "close" so I saw for like two seconds their text thread of their messages back and forth, and see a text from him to her saying something along the lines of, "It's this one (link to site), but in rose gold!"

I FLIP out. OMG!!! I immediately closed the text and was absolutely shaking, I didn't know what to do! $#!&!! Will it be obvious that I saw the texts?! OMG!!

I open back up the scanning app and yet another text comes through saying, "So did you order the band too?" or something and I'm like, OMG!!! -- I have to put this phone down NOW and pretend like I just decided to try to scan it on my phone instead.

So I do. I'm still absolutely freaking out, can't stop saying, "oh my God! Oh my GOD!" and like, trying desperately to hold my shit together so that if he walks back up to the car he's not gonna see me flipping out. He's already going to see that my friend had been texting him, and obviously knew I had his phone during that time, so thank the LORD I was saved by I think two more texts that came through after I closed out the phone. I didn't DARE look at them, just left the phone there so that when he saw it it would just look like the "new text" bubble that pops up on the iphone.

So I *think* I'm safe?! I pulled out the big guns with my inner-actress (thankfully I actually do have some theater/acting experience, LOL!) and tried my absolute hardest not to raise any suspicions and look like I hadn't seen a thing. It was SO nerve racking!!! I was going CRAZY on the inside!!! And I had to survive like several hours' worth of running errands and stuff with him after, acting totally normal.

All i could think was... I can't believe this is really happening!! That amazing man sitting next to me is REALLY is going to marry me! We really are getting engaged!! It's not just talk, not just assumptions, it's REAL. Also couldn't believe I am really going to have an engagement ring on my finger, instead of just drooling over them online! LOL!

But I'm also shocked that he already supposedly ordered this ring! It's been a bit of a tougher year for us financially, until VERY recently. A very small little business venture I started a few weeks ago is proving to be WAY more successful than we ever anticipated. I thought that he would wait at least a few months of seeing this kind of income before going ahead with buying the ring, although throughout all this he still has had a pretty sizeable savings.

I really, REALLY did not see this coming until like probably half a year from now. And I can't believe that I managed to semi-ruin the surprise!! I seriously, NEVER look at or snoop in his phone. And the ONE time he actually ASKS me to, this happens! But I mean, I guess it's still going to be plenty of a surprise. Logically, I knew a ring would be coming. And I still don't know when, and luckily managed to not see the actual ring so that will be a surprise too.

HOLY crap I can't believe this is happening!!! I literally am having difficulty believing that this actually happened. And I can't believe I have to keep pretending I don't know anything's up and that I can't talk to ANYONE about it! I'd BURST if it weren't for the waiting board!!

OMG guys. I AM GETTING ENGAGED.

Okay WOW, what is wrong with me. That post is absurdly long, I apologize! Hahaha -- it's the waiting crazies. Sorry! Lol!

@bryanneb61: You know, HONESTLY I would have said the same thing about not snooping a few days ago. I used to think for SURE I would try to snoop if I knew something was up. I was that kid that always looked in the hiding place for the Christmas presents cause I couldn't handle the suspense of not knowing! lol. But it was the weirdest thing! Once it was right there in front of me to see, I just had this INTENSE desire to not know one bit of it! I really want the surprise! So crazy.

OMG OMG, I'm SOOO excited for you!!!!!  I can't WAIT for it to get here!

AAH you guys are so amazing!!! I get so happy reading everyone's comments, it makes me even more excited! :D I'm also impressed that my rambling novel-fest of a post is actually being read. LOL!

It's so weird the emotions I feel now... because when I'm around him, I have to supress the excitement so much that I almost stop feeling excited altogether. And then the second he leaves, I'm like, "EEEEEEEEEEE!!" hahahah!

So I'm wondering if my friend texting him the dates of their trip over here was indicative of anything -- do you think he's planning on doing it when she's out here?? It's funny because a couple weeks ago she and I were talking and she actually asked me if I thought BF might propose while she and her hubby were here. I told her no way, and she actually ended up texting my BF to ask him about it/ tell him she wished he would, lol. When I asked her if BF had given her an answer, she told me he said that if he had anything planned, he would have let her know. Hmm.... was that a little white lie on her part?? Or maybe did he just suddenly get inspired to take her advice?!

Wow. What if I'm engaged in like 3 weeks when they come?! :-O
