Okay ladies, I forgot (or put off waaaaay to long) a biggie! DRESS ALTERATIONS!!!!!!
i didn’t really forget, but I have had my dress since before we were even engaged so, when we decided in October to move our wedding from Dec. 2014 to Dec. 2013 there was a long to do list for the next 2 months, and the dress wasn’t on it lol I kept saying to myself and everyone else who asked, that I already had my perfect dress so when it was closer to the big day I’d have minor alterations done. (Ummmm hello how is it, that I literally had this convo w/about 5 people and none of them said,”2 months is probably close enough!”
Im not that worried about getting the alterations done in time. It only needs to be shortened, so I feel like that is pretty straight forward and really no biggie, but my problem is finding someone to do it.
I live in a very small town and I have done almost every wedding related planning thing on line. Now, I have a task that I MUST doin person, and it is making me really nervous how did you ladies find someone to alter your dresses?

I turned to yelp to find my alterations lady – the reviews from brides on yelp really helped!

I have no idea about your area but here every bridal salon has a list of people they recommend for alterations. So if it’s like that in your area you could pop by the salon where you bought the dress and ask for a recommendation, maybe?

Definitely talk to the store where you bought the dress. They should have suggestions! (Or if you didn’t buy from a store, go to one and ask)

I ordered my dress from David’s Bridal online–it’s nowhere Newark my town lol so I doubt that they would have any suggestions for alterations in the area….I’ll check yelp though!

I live in a small town as well and your best bet is to grab the phone book and start making calls. Also put out on facebook to all the married people in your area for advice on who to go to!

I found my seamstress on Yelp and Weddingwire. I started my alterations about 6 weeks before the wedding and it was done in about 2 weeks before. I had it taken in, taken up, bustled.
