Walking down the Aisle to “Bless the Broken Road”?
So My FI and I have been friends for 9 years. about 6 of those years we both went through a lot of life changes and are back on a path together. Everytime I hear “Bless the Broken Road” by rascal flatts I tear up because that song tells our story. I’m thinking about walking down the aisle to that song. What do you think? There also is a version done by a STring Quartet that is really pretty, but the words mean so much that I dont want to part with them.
We also want everything in our wedding to be meaningful to us and this would be a great additional
Let me know your thoughts. Are you walking down the aisle or using ceremony music that is unconventional or non-traditional? What are you doing different in your ceremony?

Omigod! The instrumental versions I’m hearing on piano are beautiful… I want to walk to this now instead of Pachebel. Which instrumental version would you use so I can tell my DJ cause on Songza it just looks like some unknown guy playing the piano but it’s perfect. I wouldn’t even know how to tell the dj to access it. do you??
as for your question — not sure i would want lyrics to interfere in the moment, but that’s just me. i do think you’ll have the lyrics in your head with the instrumental… and that’ll really be wonderful for you.. two.

i say you can’t lose either way- words or just instrumental. i’m not doing the traditional bridal march but haven’t picked my song yet…

Go for it! I’m using an instrumental version of Imagine by John Lennon.
Best bets for Tea Lights?

The O’Neill Brothers play an amazing instrumental version of it! My best friend walked down to it at her wedding a couple years ago.

I’d pick the song that makes you the happiest and makes you think of your FI – it will be the happiest moment of your life to know you’re going to marry the love of your life. Also, you’ll stand out from other weddings that do the traditional march.
I’m walking down the aisle to a song from a Pixar movie, because I think of my FI and I can’t help but smile and feel warm inside when I hear it.

i think it’s a great idea! our good friend is going to play an acoustic/instrumental version of cat steven’s “how can i tell you?”. it’s soooo beautiful! my only concern is that it is going to make me cry like a baby. 🙂

i was thinking of walking down the aisle to “because” by the beatles, because it’s such a beautiful son and everytime i hear it, i think of our relationship how peaceful and sweet the vocals are, even though i think the song is about delusions lol
