If you have long, straight hair that's completely uncooperative to any "home" type attempts to curl it ie the curling iron, would it be possible for a professional to make it curly and stay? I want something like this for the wedding and my engagement photos:

But I have mostly straight with a slight wave hair that is extremely resistant to the curling iron. It will curl for about 20 minutes to half an hour, but after that it will begin to fall flat, even with copious amounts of hair spray.

So, in your experience and knowledge, is there a way for the pro's to curl resistant hair?

    Thanks!

Have you tried sleeping in rollers? Spritz your hair with a little water (or maybe some flexible hold hair spray?) before rolling it up and then sleep with them in. It's not the most comfortable, but it usually results in lasting curls for me! It takes a few tries to figure out where to place the curlers for the best results. Also, use smaller curlers than you'd expect to. If you choose a large one thinking "I want big curls," it'll just fall out. Make sure you choose something small enough so it's tight and bouncy when you first take it out, and then it'll settle a bit as the day goes on.

Aboslutely a stylist can make your curls stay!!! I am a hair stylist of 9 years, and I have straight as a board fine hair. When I was younger I could never have curl and have it stay...Now I don't have that problem at all , all because of the products I use. You have to use a thermal spray!! Any stylist will know this. I would book with your favorite salon for a hair trial. And test it out to make sure your curls stay. I LOVE Kenra's HotSpray!!! You spray on each individual strand and Waa Laa...Curl :) All you need is a strong hold Hair spray...my fav at the Moment is Color Proof's strong Hold and You should be good to go! I hope this helps and if you have any questions about hair you can always message me :)

Have you tried curling with sponge curlers? For people with ultra-straight hair, if sponge curlers don't work (you put them in the night before and take them out just before the event), hot curlers DEFINITELY won't!

Thanks for asking this question! I also have hair that holds curl for about, oh, an hour, and then it's mostly gone. I love the photo you posted, I was thinking something similar for my wedding. Thanks to those that posted adivce, I will have to to some trial runs before the big day.
