- Wedding: February 2011
So much of wedding planning has been sticker shock of how much everything costs and having to increase our budget. So… it has been a huge surprise/excitement to me that I’ve actually gone under budget on one thing– paper! And the best part is that I really have no compromised. I am so happy with my plans for everything and I don’t think I’d like anything I could have paid for better. My budget for all paper (save the dates, invitations, programs, escort cards, or anything else that is paper, INCLUDING POSTAGE) was $350. We will invite 150 guests, which is about 65 invitations. I was kind of worried that I couldn’t do it but I have all of my supplies now and I’m actually under budget- yay!
Save the Dates- $30
postcards design: free (i did it myself in word)
postcards printing: $10 (vistaprint free postcard offer, just paid for shipping)
postcard postage: $20
design: free (did it myself in word)
card stock: $47 (from paperandmore.com- 1 pack dark blue metallic and 1 pack natural cream linen)
envelopes: $28 (from paperandmore.com- 2 packs champagne metallic)
art supplies: $40 (stamps, ink pads, embossing powder, acryllic block, stickies)
eyelets: $20 (i think i’m getting them from michaels or joannes, but they’re cheap)
postage: $30 (should be .44 cents each)
cardstock- $31 (paperandmore dark blue metallic)
linen paper- $26 (paperandmore linen 11×17)
design- free (doing it myself in word)
Escort cards and all other paper:
leftovers from all of the above! I will have lots of extra linen card stock and linen paper, and probably at least 30 sheets of the dark blue metallic left over.
Grand total: $252! Almost $100 under budget, and all without feeling deprived. yay!
What have you gone under budget on, and how did you manage to do it?
