Out of curiosity, if you felt you needed everything “contained” and “sucked in”, did you wear a body shaper or some sort of bustier/corset? I’m wanting something of a waist cincher for my dress. It’s a lace/organza fit and flare that will definitely look much better if I have a definite defined waist line. I’m 20 lbs down and still losing weight and was just wondering what everyone is using. 🙂

My dress had a corset back, which I looooved because it made the dress fit me like a glove and really help define my shape without the need for Spanx.

@Gemstone: Awww! Lucky! My bodice has some rigidity to it, but isn’t a corset. I’ll be going for my first alteration appointment in a couple of weeks and wanted to find something to wear for my bridal portraits. Naturally, I’d also wear it to the alteration meeting so she can fit the dress with the under garment on. 🙂 Blah! It’ll all work out…

@AmandaJK: Gotcha! Maybe you could wear a corset underneath? Or I bet if you call your alterations place, they could recommend something?

Yes, I’m wearing Spanx shorts! Ask your seamstress. She’ll be able to tell you what undergarments you should wear. Most brides have multiple fittings so you don’t have to worry about having all of your accessories and everything at the 1st one.
