It really depends on your dress.  I’m wearing a satin trumpet style dress, so I chose a longline bra.  It’s basically a strapless bra (kinda resembles a corset but with hooks like a bra instead of ties lol.  It cuts low enough in the back that it won’t show with my dress like a normal strapless would.  And it has AMAZING support (DD’s here lol)

I’m small chested and have a keyhole back, so I’m just getting cups built in.  I bought a pair of underwear that holds me in and slims my waist a bit (even though I’m thin, I hold the weight I got in my hips).  Just make sure you get all nude color or white colored undergarments, that don’t have prominent lines that would show through the gown.

I just wore cute comfy undies and an a-line slip. My dress was heavy, so I didn’t want to wear anything else unless I had to.

I would ask whoever is doing your alterations. They will know what would work best for you and your dress.

I’m moderately large chested with a small frame. My dress is a a-line/fit-n-flare with very sturdy boning. I’m having cups put in, and that should be enough support up top. I’ll be wearing those no seam undies in a nude color for comfort and lack of lines.

I agree with PP that you need to ask your alterations seamstress – they’ll know what would be best!

kimbwerner14:  I getcha! Wedgies are the worst.

I really wanted to wear brand new undies on my wedding day, but it’s too risky! You can’t know if they’re comfortable until you wear them. I wore blue lace boy shorts. They were adorable. I did wear them a couple of times beforehand to make sure they would be comfy. I had a strapless a-line with a natural waist, so I luckily could have put anything underneath.

I suggest grabbing a few new pairs and trying them out for comfort.

The last thing you want to do in your wedding dress is pick a wedgie! I have chaffing issues and had a big skirt so I just wore satiny stretchy short things – like Spanx but not tight so they were pretty comfy. Maybe a trip to a lingerie store to see if you can find a cut/size that will work and not give you a wedgie?
