Hi Bees!! I’m getting to the point where I need to start thinking about what I’ll be wearing under the dress. Originally, I wanted nothing on top, but now I’m thinking that’s not such a great idea.
Just trying to get an idea of where to look for really good undergarments. Where did you/are you getting yours??

Good question! I was wondering the same thing. (And my dress is form-fitting so I’ll need something that doesn’s show lines.)

If you have a specialty lingerie boutique in your area, I would start there. Usually, their sales associates are professionally trained in how to measure and fit you with the right size and type of bra for your gown.
If you do not have such a store in your area, I would consult with your bridal boutique. Once you’ve been sized properly, there are some awesome websites out there that offer gorgeous, well-made lingerie. My favorite is figleaves.com in the UK. BareNecessities.com also offers some well-constructed and beautiful bridal foundations.

I got mine yesterday at a specialty lingerie boutique. It was such an awesome experience. Almost as good as the dress shopping! The ladies were super professional, measured up and brought a bunch of options.
I’ve never been properly measured, and found out I’ve been wearing a cup size too small! The bras felt so good, and I never realized how comfortable a proper fitting bra could be. It helped not only in my bridal wear, but got me in the right size for every day wear.

We are date twins! I’m starting to wonder the same thing, we have Boston Store and JCPenney that does custom fittings here, plus we have a Victoria’s Secret (that’s popular here for some reason…I find I usually need more support). We have a specialty lingerie store I will be looking at too, hopefully they won’t be too expensive! I always like the specialty stores best! They seem to have the best quality.

Ladies.. you can also check the department stores! I got my long line bra from boscovs , its designer and i love it. it is smooth and seamless and it has 3 sets of hooks that run the length of the bra. I know JC Penney also has them

I’ve got built-in support, but my bff had a more form-fitting dress. She had the best luck at a theater lingerie shop! They knew all about unusual or difficult dresses!

Thank you everyone for the suggestions! I’m thinking I need to research smaller lingerie shops in my area. I would like to go somewhere that really specializes in what I’m looking for and to get correct measurements as well. 🙂
@andilene: Yay date twins!! 🙂 How are you feeling about your plans at this point?

I went to a special lingerie boutique for a corset(ish) type bra that was made to go under wedding gowns.
For something fun on the bottom, I got these custom panties off Etsy. They were seamless and fit like a dream. I also got “Mrs. Edwards” bejeweled on them!! hehe, I think seeing those was the highlight of DH’s night, lol!
Same seller also made me an *ahem* naughty black thong for the honeymoon! I won’t mention what I got bejeweled onto it, but Darling Husband lovvvved it!!
