What kind of underthings are good to buy? I’m not sure what to do for the bra stuff and I’ve been reading on other posts about all these different types of bra stuff and such. I know about spanx but what else is good to wear for plus size such as bras and such?
Also wondering about overlays. Not too keen on a bolero and want something to cover up the cleavage!! Possibly something along these lines:
Some people have commented that Lace might not be the way to go.
Here’s the dress, no alterations.

I would not cover that neckline unless I *had* to– it’s so pretty and I think covering it will lose a lot of the style of the dress! Once it’s altered and you’re wearing a good bra, you may not be uncomfortable with the cleavage. An overlay will completely cover it. Are you thinking something like this? (the jacket over the dress?) –http://www.bonny.com/collections/unforgettable/1299
My go-to bras are by Elomi. I’m wearing one of their strapless bras and Spanx 😉 And I’ve already warned the fiance’ about the Spanx so he doesn’t find them for the garter toss 😉

Those are pics of something I was thinking. The coverage is 1. for my overall comfort level and 2. the fact that this is a traditional Catholic wedding and I’d feel better with more coverage in Church.
Thanks for the tips!

Just popping in to say that I wouldn’t even WORRY about Spanx for that dress. You look so pretty as it is! You won’t be able to tell with that cut whether you have them on or not, and you’ll feel like a sausage. Get yourself a nice pair of high-cut briefs to smooth everything out, and roll with it.
Sorry that I can’t be of help on the other issues!

Ahh– we’re having a Catholic wedding also 🙂 My dress is Bonny 1014– it looks like it has a bolero, but it’s actually attached. Same thing- I wanted to feel covered, and I also *needed* to be covered because of the Mass. Good luck!
