I get nothing but compliments from master jewelers to friends to stangers.

AlexiaMichelle:  I called a few stores near me to see if I could see some in person and they rudely told me they don’t carry “fake” stones.

I would reply “Great! Because I don’t buy from rude, judgemental retailers!”

But anyway, I have an unenhanced and I don’t think anyone notices the color but me. If they do notice, they don’t say anything. Most of the time I don’t see ANY color at all.

I know one of the moissy sites (moissaniteco?) will ship you a loose stone to look at in person and you can send it back.

My FI got mine from Charles and Colvard.

Also I’ve heard many bees say that the bigger you go the more obvious the color is….which may be true, but mine is 8 mm and I only ever see color on cloudy yucky days in the car.

AlexiaMichelle:  I got mine from a small, local master IJO jeweler and he had no problem getting me the stone I wanted.  I’m always wary of jewelers that say things like “we don’t carry ‘fake’ stones,” it just shows me that they have no interest in what their customers want and probably only care about profits.  Honestly, the rudest comments I’ve heard about moissanite are here on WB, but in real life I’ve gotten nothing but compliments.  I’ve had mine for over 4 years and it’s just as sparkly as when I first got it.  It’s a 6mm (0.75 ct) FB and I’ve had no issues with color, however my stone is on the “smaller” side when it comes to moissanites on this forum.  My sidestones are diamonds.

This is my unenhanced .75 carat round brilliant with moissanite side stones.

This is my 2 carat unenhanced round brilliant with diamond side stones. I get stopped for it a lot. People are amazed and never ask what it is or make rude comments. They are too busy talking about how amazing it is.

All I get are compliments. Everyone loves it. A lot of people know it’s moissy and swear it’s next on their list to get!

    theeebride007:  Thanks 🙂  I would guess that it’s somewhere between 2mm-3mm.

I have a 1ct unenhanced moissanite and the most color it gets is in the car, where it can look a bit grey-green. I don’t think it looks bad. Others may not agree. The rest of the time my moissanite is a shiny ball of fire and light.
