In my last update, I mentioned that we were ring shopping. I have to admit, it feels wierd to pick out my own engagement ring. For one, I grew up in a low income family, and it feels wierd to spend a lot of money (even in monthly increments) on a piece of jewlery. I have expressed my feelings on the subject, and he has expressed that he wants to do this.
He have agreed that Shane Co is the best option for us. We have loved our experiences with their sales personel so far. We went back a few days ago to look at rings again. I found a ring that I loved their website, and to our surprise they had it in stock. I tried it on, and continued comparing it to other rings that I like, but the online/in stock ring was the only one that I could honestly say that I loved.
We wanted to inquire about metel options (suspected metal allergy), and changing the large pear shaped sapphires to diamonds, and the small (in a butterfly shaped) pear shaped diamonds to sapphires. They said that if we put down a deposit, they would make the inquiry. That night my bf put down a deposit on the ring! The inquiry has come back, and surprisingly the changes are in our price range.
My bf is asking a couple of our female friends if his idea for a proposal is acceptable. Knowing that he is doing so has made me unbelieveably happy! The ring won’t be a surprise but the proposal moment/event will be. I am so excited to know that he is serious about spending forever with me!
The proposal probably will not be until next January/February (payments on the ring), but I am still giddy at the idea of him wanting to marry me!!!
