Ahahahahaha!!! Most excellent! Also, kudos to you for sending him an invite - I never even thought to do that!
Also, if the President of the US can take the time to send such a lovely RSVP, why can't ordinary family and friends be bothered to simply check Yes or No and drop their RSVP card in the mail? :P
If I hadn't elope I would have invited him AND Mickey Mouse, lol. Just to get the responses
@Bubu82: Lol, because ordinary family and friends don't have a whole "greetings office" working for them! I agree though, it really makes my grandmother look pretty terrible considering I've yet to recieve her reply but I got one from the White House, lol.
@UpstateCait: lol, I wonder how you get a job in the Presidential Greetings Office? Sounds pretty dang cushy to me, and it would look awesome on a business card!
@HoneyBear: My step-dad who is a staunch republican said and I quote "If Obamas coming, I'm not! Get him to walk you down the aisle!", lol. Oh, Pops!
BADASS. I wish we had done this. DH's family is filled with such staunch Republicans that they literally did not like me at first because of the fact that I'm a crazy liberal. That would have been so freaking amazing to have on display... haha.
Awesome!! I'm definitely going to do this. It'll make our (surprisingly few) conservative Texan guests crazy.
Earlier today, someone post a picture of an RSVP that Pres. Bush (W) sent.
I know it's an expense, but I think it's sweet that they send formal replies. :)
That's so awesome. I displayed mine at my reception as well. The day I got it, I texted all four of my brothers and said, "Really you guys?!?!? I got a reply from the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES before you four knuckleheads?"
@ENarcy: I think I may have done a happy dance when I saw it sitting in the mailbox. Definitely freaked out some neighbors!
@Jeannine @ Small Chic: I think it's nice that they send them, too.
Any suggestions for how to display it? Just a frame?
@UpstateCait: I think displaying it in a frame would be cute...maybe with the guest book, if you're having one, or by the escort cards?
BTW, there are some addresses to use when sending invitations to celebrities in these threads:

That's awesome. I'm a Republican, but even I want to do this. I'd hope people across both party lines could appreciate a response like that. Very cool!
@UpstateCait:My mailman was like "Uh...the White House is sending you mail...." I yelled "OMG!! YES!!!!" he probably thought I was a mental patient

Ok guys, I know Obama didn't really send this, nor did he even sign it but I still think it's pretty rad. I can't wait to display it on our gift table for all of our oober republican guests to see!
