Well, I suppose I should buy a lotto ticket. 🙂 It was discovered this week I have a unicornuate uterus. Which means, I basically have half of a uterus. It is the rarest of uterine disorders, and there is no corrective surgery.
Pregnancy is still possible, but increased risk of spontaneous abortion. From what I read, women who do conceive have a 50% chance of having a live birth.
Anyone else out there have this condition? How are things going?

I’m so sorry you got such terrible news! I wish I could help you… I know BabyandBump forums have some women with extremely rare reproductive issues on there… Maybe there’s someone there with your disorder?

ME ME!! i do have a Unicornuate uterus aswell. I am a long time stalker of the bee and stalk the April 2014 babies page daily. I only decided to join when i saw this post to give you some hope.
I had been TTC 8 months , got preg and lost baby at 8 weeks. After trying for a yr and a half i decided to go to a fertility doc. After all the painful tests and exams…I got the worst news i thought possible….HALF A FLIPPEN UTERUS!!! i cried instantly and felt defeated and hopeless. i assume you only have one tube as well? Make sure they check your kidneys too. Many ppl with UU only have one….Anyways, long story short. I was told i cannot go on any fertility meds due to risk of multiples (ovi there is not enough space in the uterus for more than one baby) and that my best bet was IVF. I was not prepared to go there yet so 2 weeks after that awful diagnosis, i did my 1st round of unmedicated IUI with only 1 mature egg on my good side… I got my BFP 10 days later and am now due in April with a baby girl!!!
Now, i am considered high risk and go to a special hospital for checkup’s and u.s. every 2 weeks but so far everything is great! Just need extra monitoring.
Hope this helps, feel free to ask any questions. I know i felt very alone when i found out about this and no one really understands when you say “half a uterus!”
