Hello Atlanta hive,
We have been gathering catering quotes for our wedding in Sept. and have a bit of sticker shock….the price for catering and service has been the total of our entire budget. Having thrown many large parties for much less and knowing how unappealing some of the "catering-style" food can be, we’re really trying to think creatively on how to feed our guests without killing our budget. We’re also only looking for hors d’oeuvres stations for a cocktail reception, 175 people. Any ideas?
We’re getting married at the Trolley barn which requires a catering license but I’m thinking that any restaurant that caters could fit this requirement. I read about one bride who used gourmet pizzas for a casual reception- we love pizza but don’t think that will fly with my mom. I was thinking if we could get the food from a "catering" restaurant we could hire "staff" essentially just helping with the set up/breakdown and making sure the food is replenished. Thoughts, suggestions? Wish we could cut the numbers down but finding that extremely hard w/big families.
