I think it will look great, but if you wanted a different color like silver I bet you could go to a hardware store and find a wire that same thickness and just make them yourself.
@sizzle: I tried to look for silver but it has been impossible! Ive been to 5 stores and no luck. But i really love this centerpiece so Im trying to get opinions on whether this will work.
Thank you everyone! Im so happy that you guys thyink it will look good. I really love this idea. I plan to put it on a 12" octogon mirror tile with tealight candles around it.
@future.mrs.schechter:maybe an electrical supply store would have some? or maybe even a welding supply store or where ever they sell soldering supplies? Maybe bil is a plumber and i'm pretty sure he works with stuff that looks to be that thickness only it's silver.
Metals are always neutrals. It will definitely match with purple.

You can get various thicknesses of copper wire both at building supply stores and at craft stores.
So I checked that it would look fine, but I think it would look great! I love purple and that gold color together :).
Im not 100% sure - I havent decided on what flower just yet.
That would look really really nice with purple. I would probably look into the cost of the copper- sounds silly but you never know with how high the prices are for metals....

Oh man this would be awesome if I did something like this... My FH, dad, brother-in-law, and cousin work at the same copper tubbing factory (oh and my sister, and I) have all worked at the same copper tubbing factory.
But that aside I really like this idea and the purple linens (I would do a plum colour).
@future.mrs.schechter: bells of ireland are really inexpensive and photograph really well! :) Amaryllis can be pricey sometimes.

I think the bells of ireland would look great with the purples and the copper. It is funny that this cool idea came from the Mall, but i guess inspiration can hit you anywhere.

hey bees -
I found a wonderful idea for a centerpiece at - of all places - the mall. A store had this display in the walkway. I love it but I havent been able to find a different "thing" to use to twirl around the vases. So my questions is - do you think the copper color will go with plum purple table linens? I plan to have one 12" vase with this design at each table.
