I need inspiration. I have been trying to find a rustic stone barn or cottage or bridge to have my ceremony and/or reception. My FH wants to be married in a kilt and I would like the wedding to have an old world charm to match. We want an outdoor ceremony. I would like the venue to have a place to go if the weather doesn’t permit. Most places I’ve seen that come close to what I want are way to pricy, too far away and more often than not, ugly. I don’t like a lot of traditionally used venues around my area. Any ideas on where to look? I feel like I have exhausted all options.
@squishboo: You should consider putting this on the local boards for your area… also – one other thing that we are doing for our wedding celebration- we are using a local suburban park district and the cost for the space for five hours was $600 and includes indoor and outdoor space.
I had the same issue. My husband and I wanted an outdoor venue but were affraid of fickle NY weather. So we chopped up some White Paper Birch trees and used tiger twine to strap them on the bench. We then used thick silk bows to cover the twine as seen here:
