So a good friend of mine is getting married soon. Yay!
And, I’m wondering if the hive has any super fabulous ideas for my friend. Her bridal shower is in like, 3 weeks (so i have time to buy something on Etsy!) and she’s having a full, traditional Hindu wedding. She’s wearing a red and white sari and the whole 9 yards. She’s having a ton of parties and a ton of people at everything (she’s already talking about how her registry may be too “small” for her humongous family), so I want to get to get her something a little more special in addition to, say, a spatula. Like an inexpensive registry gift and then something personalized that is super awesome and sweet.
I know you all out there have some great ideas, but it’s been awhile since I’ve had my “bride shoes” on. What should I get the bride to be?
I liked those hangers I found awhile ago (the wire ones Star blogged about) but with a sari I don’t think it’s feasible the way a regular wedding dress is.
I”ll keep scouring Etsy, but I thought I’d see what the hive has up their sleeve. Thanks guys!

I LOVE this jewelry store…they have different symbols from various religions, beliefs, and just general pretty stuff (I have a couple of pieces and I’m getting a few Bridesmaid or Best Man gifts from here) I got the “Hamsa” symbol for my Muslim friend as a wedding present.
Here’s some of the Hindu stuff:

@hotchild, I know she’d like a lot fo those jewelry pieces, I just don’t want to spend THAT much money. I’m still leaning towards a small registry gift and then a small really cool gift. Just not sure what. Something very “bride-ey”
C’mon ladies, what super cool thing do you want for a shower gift?
I was thinking a red paisley-style clutch would be great that matches the “theme” of her wedding. Red and white with paisley is very Indian and I know it’s her dress color and she loves paisley. An Etsy clutch may be really useful, but I’m just pulling blanks on other ideas. 6 months ago I’d have been able to answer this in a snap!
