I found an idea for a wedding favor where a bride asked her guests to include movie lines, favorite quotes, song lyrics marraige adivce, etc. on the back of the RSVP card. She then took the tidbits and put them in a book with pictures and had them made up as wedding favors!! I love this idea and wanted to try it, but I was curious if any other brides had done anything similar to this, and if so, do you have an example or can you point me in the direction of finding one?? does anyone consider it to be cheesy? ive just always thought that the little candies and trinkets are overdone and people dont really need this, but that this would be more personalized. Thoughts and suggestions please!

I think it sounds cute… Maybe you could do this:
My friend was married about a year ago and got everyone to write their favorite recipe and bring it to the engagement party, also to the showers, etc, etc. She then made a book of all the recipes that were collected (like you’re saying) for all her guests as favors. I thought it was a great idea! I mean who doesn’t love new recipes??

I thought about that, but I dont really do a lot of cooking. Not only that, but we’re not doing showers because we dont need anything and as far as I’m concerned, showers are for gifts. That’s kinda why I was going with something that they could fit on the back of the RSVP card. Its really just an afterthought bc i dont know how many people will participate. we will have a photo booth and people will get their pics to take home as favors, but i just thought these would be kinda cute too. idk im torn!!

I don’t think it’s cheesy. Actually, I’m quite all for DIY and personalized stuff. The photo booth thing is also a great idea.
You might also want to try these other personalized favors, although, they do take quite some time:
-Message in a bottle: here, you can simply get cute, small bottles, fill a quarter of the bottles up with sand and pebbles. You can put decorations like lavenders, stars, or anything else, and then you can put a scroll with a short message. Of course, you might not be able to do this for all of your guests, but I think this can be very heart-warming.
-Personalized candles: with this one, you’ll have to get candle containers. The best to use are probably the glass ones with varying shapes. You can simply melt wax ( in a hot pot, pour them over the glasses, secure wicks, and let them solidify. You can put a picture on the side, bottom, or top of the glass. You can put beads or glitters, and you can even create messages.

I think it is a really unique idea. Guest will appreciate seeing that you took their messages to heart. If you use a nice book or display I think it will be great.
