  • Wedding: August 2013 - backyard in the woods

There is a sweet little castle in Cahir where you can explore all by yourself- dungeons, upstairs rooms, turrets, everything. It’s awesome. I’d also highly reccomend the Skellig’s in the south and The Connemarra region (Leenaun) northwest of Galway. There is an amazing drive from Westport to Keel (Achill island). The lady who ran our B&B reccommended it. Breathtaking view at the end of the road- best part of our 2 week trip. We went to Kinsale too and Westport has the small town atmosphere you speak of. We also really enjoyed the Waterford area.

We LOVED the two days we spent in Kilkenny, also a small town feel.  Kilkenny Castle was great, and we also visited Dunmore Cave nearby.  Killarney was also fun, but a bit more congested.

I actually student taught in Ireland and we’re heading there for our honeymoon.  If you can visit, the Aran Islands are just so gorgeous.  Hardly anyone lives there, and the island I was on the longest had 1 road and 1 cop for the three islands.

@AnnieAAA:  ah love ur new list! Ring of kerry is spectacular, and adare is cute as a button!

If you have a spare day and the weather holds up (which is unlikely, its been awful here since christmas!) theres an amazing horse trekking company in lisdoonvara through the burren i would highly recommend. They were one of the top attractions on trip advisor. Fi said it was his favourite part of his 2 week visit (and it poured rain during our entire trek and we went all over ireland, and to london, so thats saying something!)

heres hoping for some nice weather for ur trip! (And for the sake of my poor little tree which is looking rather naked lately!)

@AnnieAAA: I think the snow is the least of your concerns lol the gale force winds, widespread flooding, power outages and hail are a bit more menacing right now. this is by far the worst weather ive experienced since i moved here 3 years ago. I dont think ive seen the sun since november…

On the topic of snow in ireland though, one of my facebook friends posted this photo and complained about having to “drive through the snow” earlier this week… Im a Canadian girl, so it gave me a good chuckle lol
