I’m really struggling with my ceremony music. Any help/suggestions would be great. It’s just so hard to imagine how it all will flow.
I am walking down the aisle to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TjbtYt3-GY
I found this cover and facebooked the artist asking her to rerecord it with better quality because she now has a studio… and she was SO SWEET and was happy to do it for us. We just don’t have the recording quite yet. But it’s a song that my fiance loves and I think will be sweet and mean a lot to us.
So for the bridesmaids I want something with a similar feel so the transition isn’t jarring. something acoustic, pretty, preferrably female singer. Any suggestions?!?! Anything come to mind?
Also, since we are having a legal ceremony in the dominican, we have to sign all the legal paperwork first. really weird, I know.
We are thinking of using either this:
or perhaps this:
for that part. can you picture it? does it seem appropriate?
I need guidance. How did you choose your music?!?! It’s so hard!

I think those choices are lovely! We used Iron & Wine’s Love and Some Verses for our processional. It was lovely! I am big into mellow, acoustic, folksy music so I had plenty of songs to choose from!

@mu_t: My girls and I walked down to Ingrid Michaelson’s Can’t Help Falling in Love cover. AMAZING. I just paused after the MOH walked and came in at 2:15. Probably one of the best parts of my wedding 🙂

@peasantsong: i will check it out. i love iron & wine’s vibe so it might be perfect.
@lealorali: oooo ingrid is amazing. i love that song and i made my friend walk down the aisle to it so an ingrid cover is probably perfect.
i just discovered i left my headphones at home so i can’t listen to these at work but thank you SO MUCH for your suggestions.

My favourite band is Queen so i had someone play an acoustic version of Somebody to Love.

@Swizzle: my fiance LOVES queen. i should try and find an acoustic version of a queen song… that would go nicely with the acoustic version of my journey song : ) thanks!

This is lovely and has a similar feel to the acoustic Journey song (Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova – Falling Slowly)
Not quite as upbeat/sunny, but gorgeous nonetheless (Paul McCartney – My Valentine)
I walked up the aisle to this song (Sting – My One and Only Love)

@mu_t: Tuck & Patti are an acoustic husband-and-wife duo who had several albums in the 80s and 90s. They have many songs that would work well. They do a lovely version of Time After Time by Cindy Lauper, and have an album where they cover standards as well. Their version of Jimi Hendrix’s Little Wing is also amazing. Here’s their website: http://www.tuckandpatti.com

@Miss Mauverick: i am seriously obsessed with paul mccartney so i’ve been trying to think of options that might work to incorporate beatles/wings/paul. so it’s a great suggestion. my only concern with my valentine is we’re getting married feb 12 : S i’d like to stay faaaar away from people thinking that’s WHY we chose that date.
i’ll have to check out the others when i’m home! thanks for the suggestions.
@primrosehedge: awesome, thank you so much for the reco, i’ll look into them!
