Which Bee was it that did the photo wall? Or was that somewhere else? I can't remember now, I read too many wedding blogs! But they created a whole wall with antique picture frames and wallpaper, and guests could stand behind it (there were a few empty frames) and pose for a picture. It looked adorable, and like so much fun!
Before the wedding, we asked all our married couples to send in their wedding day photos, and include their names, wedding date and some "words of wisdom" as to what makes a happy marriage over time. We got a total of 15 pictures and people LOVED the idea. We framed them with dollar store frames and made little signs with the name, date and advice and scattered them throughout the reception room. It gave people an excuse to get up, walk around to find theirs, and see what others said and did.
One thing I wish we had done was given out a bottle of champagne to our favorite wedding pic or something. One couple had the most fun picture of the groom lifting up the bride while everyone threw rose petals as they entered their reception room, and they just looked so happy and like they were having so much fun. It was different from the rest of the photos. I wish we had surprised them by saying they had a great picture, especially since they just celebrated their anniversary a month before, and made a champagne presentation, and found out what their first dance song was, and played it so they could dance. That's something you could always consider. It was a TON of work, but it was cheap and really paid off.
For grandparents who either died or could not make it, we framed their photo as well and had our parents write their "wisdom" with funny things they used to say growing up.
We had our married guests put "their" song on the RSVPs and we used these songs for the cocktail hour. We also had s'mores and a fire pit outside along with a cigar table that also had chocolate cigars for the non-smokers.
lilyfaith, that was in a bridal magazine! so maybe you saw it on brides.com. I love that idea.. I actually cut it out of the bridal magazine and taped it into my inspiration journal! =)
These are such great ideas! I'm totally stealing them! My special touch for my reception is that instead of the traditional wedding band....
We're having Dueling Pianos!
I am SO excited. I think I squeal and giggle every time I talk about it.

can anyone name a few ways to add some fun to the reception...
yes dancing is a good time, but i want to have something more.
I have heard of a photo booth and i am considering having one, even though it is a little costly. I would just let the pictues be their favors.
i want to suprise our guests with something fun and unique.
any other ideas?
