@texasbee:  What about sending a card with baby references? & maybe you could put a bib or a picture frame referring to them as “grandparents”. SInce you are overseas do you skype with your parents? Maybe you could skype & break the big news so they can get the face to face effect, without all the traveling.

Hmm, maybe when you get your first ultrasound, frame it and send it to them?

Mother’s Day is coming up soon.  Could you maybe get one of those cards from grandchild to grandmother and send it to them with an ultrasound photo inside?

When my brother and SIL found out they were expecting, they came over and told my mom and dad they had a gift for them. So my parents unwrapped it and it was baby-proofing kit for the house. I thought it was such a cute way to tell them! I know you live overseas but you could send them a baby-related gift wrapped up and skype with them as they open it?

I saw on pinterest that a couple got a HUGE box and sent helium filled ballons (pink and blue since they didn’t know the gender) with a note inside saying “You’re going to be grandparents on XX/XX/XXXX (date)”  The balloons all come out when you open the box….looked pretty cool:)

@MRSLMA: Do you mind sharing how to see this pic on pinterest? It sounds EPIC! Not even ttc, but hands down this is what we are going to do someday!!!

@totheislnds:  Love the chalkboard sign with the arrow. We did something similar for our engagement pics, so that would be a fun snapshot for FB reveal and mailing to friends that are scattered across the country!

I’ve also seen the couple holding the can of prego sauce and pointing to it in some form or fashion in  a picture, and thought that was cute!

@Juliepants:  I also loved this!!!! I would love to do this. My DH and I are country bumpkins, and I’d be lying if i said i didn’t own a pair a newborn cowboy boots already (actually, bought them when I was about 19… saw them, loved them, and been tucked away since, for about 10 years!!  ha ha!). Thinking of doing the same thing with my boots, hubbys and the little pair when / if the time comes! SOOOO cute!!!!!
