I’ll play :).  We were given the ring DH’s dad gave his mom (they were only married a couple years but they are friends now), redesigned and reworked once after they divorced.  We redesigned and remade it ours.  I was just going for “not pointy or stabby and something I could wear 24/7”.  I fell in love with the east-west settings and originally didn’t even think I’d find a way to love marquise… you can’t get much more pointy/stabby :).  We could have just traded it in or sold it, but making it ours was awesome.

I even had a jeweler tell me “I could make it but you wouldn’t like it.”.  Hah.

I have a plain solitaire, but I did design it myself so that makes me feel special =) I haven’t seen anything quite like my band though.

@MeiFrancis:  I love your rings, I would have gone with similiar if we hadn’t been given a ring to do what we wanted with.  I probably would have just gone generic 4 prong if I hadn’t been dropped into “what do I do with a marquise?” land.  And I love the way gold shows off diamonds!

    Your rings are beautiful!

I’m having my set redesigned at the moment, so I’ll have to wait to post pics 🙁 I’m so excited though and really wish I had them already!

My ring came from a custom jeweler. This is a design they have done before but we had them elongate the wings and use a purple color change sapphire. Each ring they make is cast for the stones put in it they dont keep wax molds in house so every ring is custom. I also have 2 wedding bands currently as we went for stand in bands before our big celebration ceremony where we will exchange the final wedding bands. My final wedding band will have purple sapphires and the bodies segments of the dragonflies. I will use the other two bands as stacks with it for different looks :).

2nd band that hasnt come in yet:

Final band except mine will have sapphires:

Since I’m not a big diamond fan and don’t wear much jewelry, I wanted something that was unique and fun. I ended up finding a small family owned shop via Etsy and fell in love with one of their original designs.

Here is the e-ring on its own.

And here it is with the wedding band.

Mines all custom and hand wax molded (rather than CAD and laser) :).

My artist was found on Etsy and I love my ring design!!

I love looking at everyone’s unique designs!

@Mumbles88:  I love your set, gorgeous!

I had my ering custom made, I’d fallen in love with a setting from a jeweler with a bad reputation, so I took the basic idea and changed it up to be my perfect ring. I love pink, so the pink sapphire surprise stones make me very happy.
