- Wedding: October 2013
Fiance wants to have a Unity candle ceremony. He has two children from previous marriage, they are both our juniors in the wedding party and he would like us all to light the unity candle.
I am completely ok with that. I think the ceremony of this kind is beautiful and am prepared to purchase the canlde plus 4 tapers (one for me, one for Fiance and two for his kids).
The issues I am having is that absolutelly no one from my family is coming to our wedding 🙁
They are all in Poland and expressed little interest (except my mother who would only come here if i paid for her and last time she did she put me in debt). So No family at all.
Fiance has a big family. Half the guests are his family, then it’s friends and co-workers.
It feels stupid. Generally the family members light the tapers to represent 2 families, then we all light the unity candle together to unite the family.
Who would light my candle if i have no family here ?
