What Symbolic Act & Blessing did/will you do for your ceremony? Please post pics.
We are leaning toward the Sharing Cup, where he will hold the glass to my lips and I to his. We will get married in The Neighborhood Church. Here is a link to some photos I love from that venue: http://rickywongphotography.blogspot.com/2008/06/vicki-rob-wedding-neighborhood-church.html
Has anyone done the sharing cup? Can you post a picture of you chalice?
The options are:
- Unity Candle
- Sharing Cup
- Sand in a Bottle (don’t know the proper term)
- Other – please describe

well i’m a jew, so we don’t really do those. but we do the kiddush, which is the blessing over the wine and we have to give each other wine, just like the sharing cup. we use a kiddush cup though, not a chalice.

A friend of mine just got married in October and they had a beautiful tree that they “planted” during the ceremony and weeks later planted at their house.
At the cermony they both watered the tree … but it was a beautiful symbolic moment during the ceremony and they will have the memory of it forever…and it will “continue to grow!”
The tree was also a very pretty addition to the ceremony decor as they stood right in front of it.

I went to a wedding this past weekend and they did the knot ceremony….Someone read the meaning of the ceremony while they were doing it…It was nice.

We are doing the sand ceremony. Our ceremony is outside and I am afraid of the candle blowing out in the wind! So we picked up sand from meaningful places and will do that instead of the candle.

We’re doing the love letter box, I love that ceremony and I’ve never seen it done before.

Thanks for all the feedback ladies.
The tree ceremony and the love letter sounds really interesting. I never heard of those before!
Rainbow: can you tell me how the love letter ceremony works?
