Could you all help me out and post some of the songs you have used for your unity candle lighting (or sand ceremony or wine ceremony). Whichever you have done to signify your joining of the two of you, what song did you use?
I would love, love, love, love, love to use the Grow Old With You by Adam Sandler but think it might be a bit…too quirky for our ceremony. We’re doing some traditional, some non-traditional songs (Canon in D and In My Life).

My Fi and I are using the song I need you to survive by Hezekiah Walker. Durring the same song, after the candle is lighted, the wedding party, parents, and pastor will surround us and pray for our marraige. I had seen this done at a few friends’ weddings and adopted it into out plan.
I hope that helps…

We thought about using that song too! I didn’t want the tradition song that’s always played and I wanted it kinda short, no more than 3 minutes. We ended up deciding on Crazy Love by Van Morrison and Bob Dylan. My Fiance has a cousin that sings and plays guitar so we’ll be asking him to do it. It feels like us.
Here’s a link to that song to hear it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dz36XP_fuIQ

We will be using Somewhere In Time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_JmUMkLy7g&feature=related
Not traditional, but very fitting for us.

Hey we are date twins! I think I decided on “The Prayer”… I’m not sure who it’s by but I do know that Celine Dion and Josh Groban sang it.

My Mom actually wanted my hubby and I to dance to Adam Sandler’s tune. As much as I love it, she lost that “argument” as I wanted something a little more sentimental.
In terms of our unity candle song, we had Josh Grobin’s “You Raise Me Up” played by our violinist. It was just perfect!
Good Luck deciding!

We decided on the song As Long As You’re Mine from the musical Wicked. Our violinist played it for us and it was gorgeous!!
