Could you explain what you do with it? Do you build it together?

I think something different would be very significant because it is more memorable.  We did the candle and it wasn’t a huge highlight for me. (And I am very religious).

Do you get to keep this? I think it would be a beautiful keepsake.

I know this is old, but did you end up using it? I’m having the exact same debate.

I think this would be very unique and a great keepsake.

However, you’d have to practice and see how long it’d take to build during the ceremony. Can it be done instantly? 5mins? Unity candles and sand don’t take a sec and it’s over. You just have to ask yourself how long you want to stand in front of everyone and if you’re prone to nervousness, would it be harder for you to focus and build it?

Our mothers’ candles went out during our unity candle ceremony, I wish I’d picked something like this now, lol.

We’re thinking of doing this, as well.  Has anyone done it?

Just got mine. I did pay $100 for it and it is larger than I expected. It doesn’t take long to put together and the part that is read by officiant comes with it. I’m so excited.

@Mislaty:  where did you get it? I’ve been looking and only found it for 139.99 for the black and silver one

I got my Unity Cross recently and it was easy to put together as well. I got my in all pewter. They have lots of styles and colors to choose from so it will match your wedding colors. For me, it was totally worth the money.

Here’s a link where I went to purchase my Unity Cross. http://unitycross.com/unity-cross
