@k_nash:  Hi!  My husband and I did the unity sand.  I really loved it πŸ™‚  My husband and I each had vials that had a different color of sand in each.  When the moms were escorted in they each poured a small amount of sand into the the larger vase.  This becomes the foundation.  Then when it was time for my husband and I to pour our sand the colors mixed symbolizing our unity….We now have it up in our home.  I hope this helped Smile

We did this, as it was only us, my hubby’s 2 kids and my brother and his brother (we ran away and got married that morning). we just had us and the kids pour the sand, we had four colours (white for me black for him and blue and pink for the kids) we poured a little bit first then the kids poured a little bit then we all finished.

It was beautiful, the celebrant went to explain what the sand ceremony meant and my 10yr old stepson stopped her talking and said “yes i know what it means, each colour is each of us and then when we pour then together it means we become a family and can never be seperated” LOL it was cute! it was because i was explaining to him what would happen during the ceremony and stuff πŸ™‚ IT WAS CUTE!! and i loved that he butted in and explained it himself, it showed me that he was actually paying attention to what was going on.

It sits next to my hubby’s gaming computer <3

I just realised i have not many photos of it… and none on my phone πŸ™ *sad*

I’m glad we did it!

I’m not sure how it would work with an actual wedding, i guess can be done how ever you like.

Most of the time its just bride and groom and their children if any…. but really you can include anyone you want in it. πŸ™‚
