I had mine at the UCLA Faculty Center and it was great and affordable. I don't know how much the UC schools have in common when it comes to food and such, but I think it would be worth checking out. I suggest calling them and scheduling an appointment to learn more about their venue and do a tasting. Good luck!
I had a friend who got married there. She loved it, and seemed pleased with the services.
One of our groomsmen's fiance is the wedding coordinator for UCI's University Club! She's real sweet. And from what she tells me, she acts as the Day of Coordinator for you, too.

My sisters wedding was there, just this past May 30th. It was wonderful. I would be happy to share pictures... The food was great too.
