I had dress regret with my first dress, then caved and bought a second one (luckily, the first was a clearance/off-the-rack, so I didn’t waste much $$). I LOVE my new dress even though it is much more simple than the previous one. Still, I feel like a princess in it and I think it will go much better with the slightly whimsical/casual tone of our summer wedding.
Before I bought the dress I did a Google image search to see other brides in it, but there were only 2-3 ladies wearing it, besides the stock photos. So do you feel special that your dress isn’t being worn by SOO many other brides? Or do you feel like there’s something wrong with your taste? Or maybe this dress was made Just for Me! 🙂
What do you think? Here’s my new dress below, Galina WG3045. (Ignore my expression, I was concentrating on not shaking the phone!)

I haven’t found ANY real brides in my dress yet. Partly I like that because it seems more “special,” but then again, nobody at my wedding will know how many other people wore it, so it’s special to them anyway. The other part of me thinks, “Is this dress so ugly that I am literally the only one stupid enough to wear it?” LOL. I’m ultimatel chalking it up to the fact that it’s from the spring 2011 collection of its designer and maybe just not that many women have worn it yet. (I hope.)

That dress is stunning on you. Great choice!
I have only seen one other one in my dress and it’s a DB dress, but it is def the one for me. I tried on all the Vera gowns and most of the dresses in the store and I am positive that my dress is def “my” dress.

I think you look amazing in the dress you posted!
Personally, I would rather a dress that wasn’t as popular as the others. With so many dresses out there, I think its great that you could find a unique dress (which is hard in the wedding world).

You look amazing! The dress is beautiful, clearly nothing wrong with your tastes! You say it’s simle and I find that’s where its beauty lies – the eyes are immediately drawn to the pretty flower accent, the pleats and the general shape of the dress.
Somehow some dresses are just not as popular. I’ve also gone for a dress (Pronovias Geraldine) which I’ve seen very few brides go for.

This dress looks great on you! I know exactly how you feel though, I have not yet found one picture of a real bride in my dress, and it sometimes makes me feel unsure of it. I still love my dress and really it’s kind of a really special thing to have a unique dress! 🙂

I think the dress not only looks great on you, but it will be perfect for the wedding you described!
As for popular versus unpopular… I just don’t think it matter much. Chances are, your guests don’t read wedding message boards and blogs and such. So even though you might think something is not unique enough, they probably don’t know the difference.
I think the most important thing is to make sure you pick the right dress for you! So that you’re comfortable and you feel like a million bucks. As long as that requirement is met, then whether or not lots of other people have worn it is irrelevant. 🙂

I love that dress, reminds me a lot or Wtoo Mimi which I never see and love!!!

i didn’t see one picture of a bride in my dress. I actually was disappointed because I wanted to see it on someone else. lol.

Personally I am glad no one else has pictures out there of my dress. It is from a fall 2007 collection but I love it and it makes it all the more special to me.

lox: totally agree that it doesn’t matter whether it’s popular or not. The only advantage of a popular dress is that you can gather lots of inspiration online of how to accessorize etc!

I think the only thing that matters is if YOU love and feel good in your dress. 🙂 There have been so many posts on here (and other wedding sites that I frequent) asking whether it bothers people to see a LOT of other ladies wearing the same dress as them, and the answer is always so varied. Some people really want to be unique and find a dress that is custom made to them, other ladies just want to find a dress they love and could care less if 100’s of other ladies are wearing the same thing that year (or even month!). If you love your dress (and it looks gorgeous on you btw!) then it doesn’t matter if anyone else chose it or not! 🙂

@ItsPronounced_ABear: My Maggie Sottero gown as I was told was discontinued and is from 2008 or earlier. I only found tiny tiny pictures of it online through google and even the brides who wore it were only 2 or three that I could find, and one took the bow off!! (the bow I think made the dress)
I’m very happy with it though, purchased through another bride after it was a sample, it’s in ivory which I love and the beading is exquisitive, everyone I’ve showed it to so far LOVES it including the vendor people who are doing flowers..etc. I’m pleased, it suits my taste and is a hint of regency (reminds me of Gwenyth paltrow’s Emma when she wore the dress with the little bow)
Don’t worry about other people, as long as you LOVE your dress that’s all that matters ^_^
Your dress looks FABULOUS on you!!!
