We did our engagement pictures last week, and our photographer seemed pretty unprofessional.  He forgot our appointment, and once I told him we couldn't reschedule because the location we were using wouldn't allow it, he got a bit short with me.  He finally showed up 2 hours late, and wasn't as friendly or fun as I thought he would be.  I didn't feel very comfortable during the shoot.  We haven't seen the pictures yet, but my fiance and I already disagree about what to do.  I want to find a different photographer for my bridals and the wedding, and my fiance wants to wait and see how our e-pics turn out.  Should I give him a second chance, on the most important day?  Or should I hire someone else regardless of how talented our current photographer is?  Thanks for your input!

Oh my gosh! I hate that for you! I read your blog from time to time and I know how excited you were to tie those photos in with your save the dates. Bless your heart. I know that must be so deflating. Unprofessional photographer? : wedding Icon Sad

This is a tough situation to bounce back from, I'm sure. But before throwing the baby out with the bathwater, maybe you could nicely confront his unprofessional behavior and negotiate a discount for your trouble? It never hurts to ask. Who knows, maybe this was a fluke. Perhaps he wasn't very interactive because he was frustrated about the fact that he was late and felt bad for you. I say talk to him about your doubts and see if you can get a better feel for him and his professionalism. If you still don't feel 100% comfortable, definitely fire him and get a different photog for the bridal shoot and wedding day. After all, you only get one chance to get great day-of photos! Good luck!

Judging from your wedding date listed on your profile, I would say you have enough time to see how the pictures come out before making a final decision.  Not to mention, in an area as large as yours, I would think you would have lots of photographers who would be available this far out.

Thanks for the help!  I should have mentioned he offered to give us some free prints to make up for our lost time, which was nice at first, until I saw on his website that those prints are included in the package anyway!  Thanks girls!
