    My FI is very involved in the wedding planning process and he told me that he wanted to see me walking down the aisle to an Apocalyptica song. For those of you who have no idea who Apocalyptica is, they are a Finnish metal band that consists of three classically trained cellists and a a drummer. They have original songs and they also do covers of metal bands such as metallica. Look them up on youtube, you won't be dissapointed!

    Anyway, because I love the band and because we have such sweet memories of the night we went to see them live (he gave me tickets to one of their concerts for Christmas a couple of years ago), I agreed. After listening to many of their songs we both agreed upon their cover of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters." Although not technically a love song, the lyrics of the original metallica song read to us as a love song and they make us very happy.

    Here it is:

    Are any of you bees walking down the aisle to untraditional/offbeat songs? If so, what's your song?

    I am not married yet but I went to a wedding where the bride walked down the aisle to "My Boo" by Usher and Alicia Keys and it was really sweet :)

    @shewolf:  That sounds like a very fun wedding between two people who are super confident in themselves! It would have been quite the sight!

    We got some musician friends of mine to arrange a Scottish fiddle tune into a processional for us. It was beautiful!

    I'm stuck between two choices right now - either "Neighborhoods #1 (Tunnels)" by the Arcade Fire, or "Goodbye Happiness" by Utada Hikaru.  The only thing keeping me from using the latter is the title, but if the title isn't in the programs it's not an issue LoL.

    Mine will either be "Redford (for Yia-Yia & Pappau)" by Sufjan Stevens, "Say Yes" by Elliott Smith performed by Vitamin String Quartet, or "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure performed by Vitamin String Quartet.

    @soontobeMrsBoo:  People keep trying to convince me to watch that movie. All I know about it: MawageMawage is wot bwings us togeder tooday.Mawage, that bwessed awangment, that dweam wifin a dweam... LOL

    @bdockery:  Such a good choice!!!

    @MissStumptown:  I love your last two choices!

    @shewolf:  oh my gosh, I bet!

    @laekna:  I think it is some awesome that you have known what song you wanted to walk down the aisle to for that long! I kept changing my mind until my FI made his choice and I couldn't be happier that he did. Besides deciding that we wanted to get married, the song was our very first wedding related decision :)

    FH picked my song to walk to, an orchestral piece from one of the Final fantasy games. I forget the name but it sounds beautiful and shows our geeky side without horrifying grandma.

    My husband and I each picked our 3 favorite "walk down the aisle" songs, listened to them together one evening, and both ended up picking this one:

    My One and Only Love by Sting

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEkJoMNFPEA

    I almost cried when I heard the first few piano notes on our wedding day.

    I saw it suggested on "Offbeat Bride" but as soon as I saw the suggestion and I remembered the song immediately in my head and remembered how much it moved me (along with the scene of course).

    "Romantic Flight" from How to Train Your Dragon.

    I'm also considering the instrumental version of "I See the Light" from Tangled if I'm worried that Romantic Flight will sound "eh" on a loop. Originally I only planned on having a few people walk down the aisle but I guess a lot more of the family is walking than I originally wanted. For a moment I actually thought it was a very original thought...and then I saw it mentioned in lots of threads lol.

    I LOOOOVE Apocolyptica! They were my inspiration too, when choosing songs to walk down the aisle to. We had our parents and wedding party walk down to a strings version of Stairway to Heaven and I walked down to a strings version of Bittersweet Symphony. It was perfect. :-)

    I've always wanted to do the book of love by Peter Gabriel (huge scrubs fan) but my soon to be fiancé doesn't love it.

    I'm thinking of surprising him with one of his favourites... Faithfully by Journey. Buuut Boyce Avenue does a really pretty cover so maybe that. I've got some time but I love untraditional song choices!

    All lovely choices ladies. I love how creative you guys all are and how unafraid you are to be yourselves and not conform to the norm on such a special and personal day!

    @blushingbride1013:  Do you get to hear the song before the wedding or is it a surprise for you?

    @HappilyEverAfter54:  Amazing :)

    I walked down the aisle to 'Fishing in the Dark' by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, but preformed by one of the groom's men. It was wonderful, and no one saw it comming, even husband, thankfully he loved it.

    I took the instrumentals to Nichole Nordeman's "Every Season" and edited it a little bit to make the song that everyone will walk down the aisle to.

    So, it's 100% original lol.
