I love the vertical-style rings (art deco, not sure what the official term is):

I also can’t express exactly how much I love this style halo:

Not that I buy into the whole hating on nontraditional rings thing or worry about it, but I am SO into marquis stones. I don’t really want one on my e-ring, if we decide to have one/them, but it’s the stone on my HS ring and I adore that one. Also hugely into colored stones.

I am not a halo fan but I love the one you just posted.  I have never seen anything like it!  I have had a nontraditional set for many years and loved the uniqueness of it.  I have only seen one other person (in 32 years) that has had my exact set.  Now, however, it looks very dated and I am upgrading to a more traditional, although pretty (I hope!) set.

Back in 2010, when we decided to upgrade my ering, we first picked out this 1.5 trillion solitaire, but it felt too “showy” for me and we ended up returning it and getting a more traditional shape, but I love it’s uniqueness.  Plus, my mom made a comment that it looked like a Christmas tree, and I couldn’t get that out of my head, lol.

@MrsChristopher:

I love that halo, too! I have ever since I saw one of the other bees (a regular on the ring board for a long time) post that as the halo she plans to purchase when she and her DH upgrade her ring. I think it’s quite stunning!

I guess my set could be called unusual and maybe even “out there”  but I love it

@Heidibrooke:  I love trillion cuts. I don’t think I could wear it as a center engagement stone… love them as side stones.

That said… I have a trillion cut Amethyst RHR… love it!

Not sure its particularly ‘out there’ but I’ve got a marquise diamond and they aren’t that common so perhaps it is unusual. It took long enough to source, I know that much! (Rubbish picture of mine!)

I am not a fan of halos (they’re pretty, but not for me) but I LOVE this baguette-halo ring:

I really love the look of rough diamond rings, particularly the ones that look like they’re tied to the band with a pave rope. Examples:

It’s not a style I would wear, but if I saw a woman with this ring I’d immediately want to be friends, because she’s obviously cool lol!

The nerd in me loves this ring (R2D2 for those of you that maybe aren’t quite as nerdy lol)
