It is possible that you could have jostled something when you were having sex. Even if you don't feel it, you sometimes could cause minor tears or bump the cervix which could cause bleeding. Other than that, it could be your period still regulating from getting off BC or you could be pregnant. I would take another at home test and see what it says.
thanks. Maybe I just jostled something then. I didn't notice anything uncomfortable, but who knows.
Being off and on BC for years, sometimes it does take your period a while to get back to normal after coming off but going on 2 months is a little long. Pregnancy is always an option because condoms arent full proof. I would honestly make an appt with my doctor to get things checked out, more for peace of mind than anything. I'm sure it's nothing big. Take another test in the meantime and I guess just wait and see if anything happens in the next week.
I'd agree. I doubt its anything to be worried about. Probably just your body trying to get back some kind of rhythm.
Definitely get it checked by your doctor, but I'm with the previous posters. I think that something might have just gotten jostled inside and it's leftover blood from that. Usually, when it's a brownish color instead of a bright red, it's old blood in there that's making its way out. I think it had to do with you having sex earlier in the week.
Keep an eye on it, and definitely give your doc a call to be sure it's nothing more serious.
Yeah, before my last period I made an appointment with my doctor, but then it came like 2 days before the appointment. Go figure.

So, just for the record, I do plan on calling my doctor soon if this doesn't turn into an actual period. I planned on doing it this week regardless, but then this came up.
So, I went off of birth control back at the beginning of October and I have been irregular. The only regular part is that it takes over 50 days for me to get my period. While I don't know if I was super regular before BC (I didn't know how to count it), I do know it never went this long. So that's why I was going to call the doctor regardless. I'm on day 64 since my last period.
HERE COMES THE EXTRA TMI stuff
last night I noticed a bit of light brown streaks in my panties and noticed a bit more when I wiped. I used my finger to check (i know, sorry! warned you, TMI) and sure enough there was light brown color discharge. Now, I know spotting generally isn't a big deal and it happens, but I have NEVER been one to spot. Even when I was on birth control, if I would skip periods, even in the beginning as my body was adjusting, never any spotting. So I was thinking that maybe it was just my period starting, but I've had zero cramps, which is also unusual for me. I can't remember EVER having a period that wasn't preceded by cramping. Even on the pill, I would still get light cramps a few hours before my period actually started. I checked again this morning and it's still just a light brown discharge and no red spots at all. I wore a panty liner and nothing showed up on there at all. It's actually probably a bit lighter in color today than yesterday, but hard to tell.
So basically my question is, what could cause this? Is it common to get spotting after going so long without a period while not on birth control? I know the whole implantation bleeding thing, but we aren't TTC and we're using condoms (though, admittedly, we only use them at the end before ejaculation. I know it's risky, but we're ok with the risk). I last took a pregnancy test April 9th or 10th and it was negative. I've been testing periodically, just incase and will test again this weekend maybe if I don't get a chance to go in to see the dr before then. MORE TMI We last had sex on Saturday evening, about 24 hours before I noticed the spotting. It was a rather long "session" though not particularly rough and I never noticed feeling dry. Could that some how cause it?
Just for reference, my last gyno exam was in July of last year and there wasn't anything out of the ordinary and I assume my pap was normal because I never got a call.
