Oh man, I’m gonna warn you that it’s tough.  Being so close to NYC, there just aren’t that many large, open spaces where you can have a wedding.  I was looking for about 175 people and had a tough time finding a spot… with 250 expected, I think it’ll be even more difficult.

I wound up deciding to have my wedding at Temple Shaaray Tefila, which has some really cool-looking rustic stone architecture and lets you bring in your own caterer.  But it’s a synagogue, so that might rule it out for a lot of people.

I don’t know what your budget is like… I thought the Wainwright house was gorgeous and just perfect until I saw the prices, but maybe it’s within your range.  (I’m not sure its capacity though).  Lyndhurst might fit the bill for you, too.

If you’re willing to go out further into the Hudson Valley, there are some other cool-looking places – Shadow Lawn, Brotherhood Winery, Bear Mountain Inn, etc.

Check out this chart of venues (as of their 2011 issue, so it might be slightly outdated) in Westchester: http://www.westchestermagazine.com/Westchester-Magazine/Westchester-Weddings/Annual-2011/Where-to-Wed/

You should look into the Salem Golf Club in North Salem, NY. It’s absolutely beautiful!

Hi Bees! The Garrison may fit that large of a party. Not too many unique venues in Westchester, maybe you could rent a property?
