My cousin's good friend Heather Carpenter is just starting to do wedding photography in the SF area. Oh my goodness. I get so excited to refer brides to my photographer.

I love my photographer. His name is F.C. Wong and he does some of the most amazing work I have ever seen. Before I hired him,I was hooked on his blog for months.

What caught my eye was how different his style is. In this day and age, photographers photoshop their images so much. Sometimes it doesn't even look like you anymore. I really didn't want that. I wanted AUTHENTIC!! Real! But still beautiful.

After talking to about 35 photographers, I finally found what was I looking for. So i'm trying to save you some time. Go to his site. Youll be WOWed. Go to his blog, you'll be hooked.

Ok, here's his blog. What I love is that he puts entire wedding albums online so you can see the whole day's work, not just a few select images. (That's really important!)

He also plays slideshows of the wedding day at the reception! Who does that?? AND he posts them online the day after. Awesome.

I really like Jonathan from www.encarnacionphotography.com! He's really sweet and very fun guy. His prices are VERY reasonable!! I believe, proofs, e-session, album, 8 hr coverage, for less than $2k! gee i checked with some of the posted links for price quotes and it's way above my budget for a photographer... sigh.

anyways, so far I've found two people that may do photos AND videography for well below the cost of just these photographers...will have to wait and see if these are any good leads and will get back to you guys

i wonder if people will pay me to come take pics of their wedding... i have a SLR camera and some experience w/ photography....

You might consider Melinda Le photography....

I met Melinda and her assistant at a wedding that I was in this summer. I haven't seen the photos yet, so I can't give an opinion there. BUT my impression of Melinda was that she was very professional and took the work seriously without taking herself seriously. My friend (the bride) told me that her rates were reasonable. I will definitely consider hiring her to do my wedding next summer.

Hi, We love our photographer we actually found her from a rec on wedding bee. She was originally in So Cal and just relocated to Nor Cal about 2 months ago. Yay for the Nor Cal bees. I know she is working hard to bulid her Nor Cal business. We are paying less than $2,000 for all day coverage, engagement, and DVD of images. Her name is Hana Chung.
