Ok, a week ago, we were pretty sure that we we going to Breezes Resort in that Bahamas. Had some great reviews but it’s a 3-4 star resort. Adult only and all inclusive. It fit our budget of 7 day trip for $2900 (included airfare from Seattle). One downside is the rooms I hear are outdated but service is amazing, beach is amazing, activities and food and drinks are great.
Well, last night, I wanted consider other options. Me and the Darling Husband wanted to stay away from Mexico. I don’t know what Darling Husband reasons were but I didn’t want a place that was wild and crazy like what you see during spring break. Plus, maybe I wanted to stay away from mexico because I heard a lot of people say they got sick.
Well, I looked on cheapCarribean.com site and found that there were new sales. I found that Secrets Silversands was cheaper and it’s considered a 5 stars resort and it was built in 2008. Then I started looking around and then found some reviews on the excursions. I tried looking for a shark encounter for the Darling Husband and a horseback riding and maybe ziplining in the Bahamas. In the Bahamas, I didn’t find the shark thing and I found some bad reviews for the horseback riding. Guess what, in cancun, they have it all. It checks all of our boxes beside the first one… the no mexico thing. But looking at the reviews, I didn’t see anyone complain that they got sick… yes I know there’s no guarantee but if there are a bunch of reviews where people say they got sick, there’s a probably is a good chance you’re going to get sick.
I think I”m sold. I’ve never been to the carribean (the islands) and would have love to go to the bahamas but this one was something I could not pass up. Rooms are amazing, there is more of a restaurant selection… plus it’s cheaper. We can use the money we saved (only a few hundred) into excursions.
The only downside to this resort, is I heard the beaches aren’t that good. Slightly rocky. I’m a beach person, I love sun bathing but I don’t neccesarily like swiming in ocean water… so I’m perfectly fine with using the pools. They got all the activities like water sports. Check and check!
Plus, the flight from Seattle to Cancun is not as long so that means we get there earlier.
Well, I’m going to book this trip soon. Like this weekend but I wanted to know if any other bees have been here.
If you saw my post on Hedonism.. yeah I didn’t realize it was a nude resort where couples can “experiment” and definitely not honeymoon worthy. lol
Before I book it, I want to hear from our fellow bees.
