So I told you ladies I was going to be doing the "strassing" on a pair of white heels I bought to try this DIY thing some of us have seen of TPF. So I started tonight.. been working for about 2 hours and here is the result (im using hotfix swarvoski crystals and a hotfix tool).
they're kind of fun polka dotted :)
are you planning to fill them in like your original post, or leave the polka dotted?
They are going to be filled.. here are the updated pics from my stopping point for tonight..
Thanks ladies.. I'm hoping to get things further along today.. I will have more pictures.
It's looking good!!! How long do you think it'll take you?
I'm still looking for the shoe that I want to "strass", but pretty sure it'll be purple.
Oh wow, that looks great! So are you filling it in all over the entire shoe? (I'm not familiar with this "strassing" term...)
I could not find shoes that I liked in the "right" shade of pink. I dyed mine myself , they were cheap. But... I put crystals with our initials on the souls. (or just mine before and after lol!) Yours looks great!!
I am so not computer savvy!!
let's try again!
@ysqueen- this is probably going to take awhile. I wouldnt be suprised if it takes close to 30-40 hours total in work as the hotfix gun is very tedious. Im sure I could use the E6000 glue, but I already had the tool and from what I read the tool has less mess then the glue. I did however win a pair of Louboutins on the bay which I will strass the heel. I am pretty confident after this it will look awesome!
@farmersdaughter- yes I plan on doing the entire shoe.. here is just one that has already been done
Bunnyblue- Those are beautiful!
Goodness Ren, that is a LOT of work. But it is looking really good. I'm glad that you added the additionaly photos. At first, I thought your shoes were going to look like that one pic with just the dots random. But now I see what the finished product will look like, I really really do like it. Great job on not quitting yet. I think after a couple hours, I would have already thrown the shoe at the wall or something lol.
Wendy I thought I would be that way too.. but honestly its very calming.. and I really really enjoy it! I just keep thinking how pretty these are going to look on my feet!
love it! Ren, you better be preparing to write a DIY tutorial for this :)
Is that last picture a shoe you did or a professionally done one?
Looking pretty!!! Can't wait to see the end result!!!
You´re doing a great job! the shoes look amazing!
I was just wondering, now that you see the technique qork you´re staying with this pair? or using a different one? Cuz from the last post I get the idea that this was just a try...I´m not sure I undesrtad tho.
Anyways the shoes look beyond awesome!! I´m sure the result will be amazing!
Good Luck!
@daydreamwonderer- The last one is actually a shoe on of the ladies at TPF did herself!! Gold Christian Louboutin pump with volcano swarvoski crystals. She is the one I followed with the sizes of crystals I needed. I have never written a diy tutourial, but I plan on it after this.. hence why I am taking so many pics.
Thanks ladies..
What im using:
White pair of patent leather pumps. Swarvoski Hotfix crystals in Tanzanite AB- Sizes: 6ss, 10ss, 16ss, and 20ss.
Looking great so far! Can't wait to see them when they're done :)
wow!! that is a lot of work. Good job the first one looks amazing.
I would be a NERVOUS WRECK gluing things to a Loub shoe, OMG.
Ren - your shoes are looking HOTT!
Once I get the hang of it.. I think im going to do just the heel of my new loubies I just bought!
Those are beautiful!! you are doing a great job!! fellow shoe fanatic ;)
beautiful shoe, ren! takes such time and effort, good job!
Oh those are going to look fantastic and I love the inspiration photo too! :) What is TPF though? Is Hotfix like a special glue gun? I don't understand how you don't have glue strings and drops....I would love to make something like this!!! I've had the hardest time trying to find shoes and this just might be what I should do.
Curly.. TPF is another forum online.. I can message you the link if youd like.. Hotfix is a tool that you put on crystals which heat up hotfix crystals so the back (which has glue on them) melts and adheres to the shoe.
TheRen, you are doing great! I am thinking about doing this too. The first pair of wedding shoes that I feel in love with had strass, but I couldn't afford the $1,500 price tag (and that was the sale price). Here they are below:

I LOVE all the DIY shoes! You're seriously making me want to DIY my own shoes...
thanks...lol
you are!!
okay fine...you've pushed me to do it!! I'm going to be on the hunt for the poor shoes that will go in to wedding lab of horrors!!!! loljk...it's a cute little office!
