For the backstory: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/heart-problems-1
Thank you to those who responded. We finally figured out what’s wrong. I have AV Nodal Reentrant Tachycardia, sounds so complicated but here’s a diagram with button to see the difference between a normal heart and what I experience: http://www.biosensewebster.com/patientEducation/av-nodal-reentrant-tachycardia.aspx
I had a stress test finally on Monday and my heart rate soared to 190, then they couldn’t get it down and it just kept rising after the test was over. 20 minutes later my heart rate was still at 180. They wheeled me to the ER where they administered a drug that stopped my heart for a couple beats to “re-set” me. Didn’t work. Still in the high 150’s at rest. They did two more things, and 3 hrs later my heart rate was finally back to normal.
Got to see the doc again and he’s going to put me on a Holter monitor for 24hrs tomorrow. After that in the next couple weeks I’ll have a surgery called catheter ablation where the zap the part that’s not working and I’m CURED! So simple!
I’m just relieved to know what it is and that it’s fixable. Thanks for listening!
