well that’s good to know. I’ve been on the ring for about a year now. But we always use condoms as well…I’m super paranoid about it.

Sorry you’re in this position, hopefully it will all work out :-/

@Ninteenthchance:

I got pregnant on nuvaring! I was just posting about this!

Seriously it’s not 99% affective. Studies have shown that it is not. Although I am sure a lot of it is based on the user. It’s just not that easy to use! There is more error then just popping a pill. My OB agrees that it is not as “affective” as it is marketed to be.

If I had known I would have changed to a different birth control or used a back up form.

Anyway if you are like me you are probably stunned and a little horrified, just talk it over with your SO and figure out what’s best for you all!

That’s what we had to do and it’s been rough but I’m happy with my decision and I will definitely be getting an IUD in the future.

@Ninteenthchance:  I’m sorry you didn’t get the result you were hoping for. Whatever you decide to do, don’t let anyone make you feel bad about it. Having a baby you aren’t ready for isn’t an ideal situation and you do have options. Do what is best for you and your family. Good luck!

Yikes!  I’m really sorry you are going through this.  That sucks.  🙁

Thank you for posting this, however.  I was very seriously considering going on nuvaring because I’m not the best at remembering to take my birth control pills.  I thought the ring would be safer, but looks like its not.

Best of luck to you!

@harperlynn:  I’ve never used it.  How is it more error-prone than the pill?

CONGRATS! I know it’s unexpected, but I think it deserves a cngrats, anyway!

(PS- I was on the NuvaRing from 2009-2013 and never got pregnant until I stopped using it and we started trying!)
