The same coworker who was asking me if I was pregnant a few weeks ago just passed me in the hall as I went to lunch. As I walked by, she said, “Any babies yet?” I shook my head emphatically, and then she leaned in. She said, “Are you two even having sex? If not, we need to talk!”
I just kind of stared at her with my mouth open while she walked away laughing.
A line had already been crossed, but I think she just crossed the second line several feet behind the first one. Ugh.

Oh. My. God.
I don’t even think there are words for this.

WHAT?! Honestly, that’s sexual harassment. It was unwanted and terribly inappropriate. I would approach her, and if this continues, I would bring this up with HR and/or a supervisor.

Dear god. It sounds like she thinks you guys are waaayyyy better friends than you really are.

@GreenEyedMoon: Seriously? Wow. I’m not sure if this is grounds for sexual harrassment as Pearberry says, but you definitely should bring this up w. a supervisor and/or HR if she does it again. I’d come see her at some point soon and say ‘look, you’ve made me feel extremely uncomfortable with X, Y, Z… please stop or I will have to talk to a supervisor/HR because it isn’t funny or acceptable’.
Ridiculous. Either that coworker has no brains or she gets some perverse pleasure out of this.

I would be pissed. I’d tell her that those comments make you uncomfortable and you rather that she not say that to you.

We’re a pretty small department, and to go to her supervisor, I would actually have to go to my boss’ boss. That would just be weird to me. We have no HR department at this office… All of HR is in New York. :-

That is so inappropriate! Wow!

Wow. Super inappropriate. Sorry you have to go through that. I can’t imagine.

A scene from GreenEyedMoon’s lunchroom:
“Are you two even having sex? If not, we need to talk!”
(enthusiastic voice) “Oh we do it ALL the time”
(mildly confused voice, with ever so slight, quizzical head tilt) “I’m pretty sure you can’t get pregnant in the butt though”
“Maybe I’m wrong… SHRUG… wow your lunch looks good!! What is that??!!”
That should shut her up pretty quick.

NY would be getting a call from me. That is totally inappropriate!

Totally innappropriate and I agree with the others that you could definitely file a complaint with HR if you want to. That is sexual harassment.

@MissNoodles: <— this. My answer is always to use sarcasm to diffuse an uncomfortable situation… and this will definitely do the trick!
OP, I would go straight back to her and tell her she’s inappropriate and if she keeps bringing it up, you really need to call NY. that is NOT okay.
@MissNoodles: hahahaha i usually heart sarcasm as a deflection tool as well, but in the case of a coworker with no boudaries i would be wary. talking about anal sex may open a whole line of conversation even worse than whats come up so far!
