So I posted this yesterday about my friend’s weird reaction to my ring:
Friend’s response to my ring..
I saw her again last night at an event she was organizing. I had brushed everything off and was ready to have a good time. The event went really well. When my FI showed up, she made a point of telling him congratulations.
Then at the after party she actually came up to me and said, “I feel really bad about how I acted Tuesday night. Sometimes I’m really not that girly and all I could think of were the practical points of the ring like if it’s insured or not.” This was totally out of the blue.
She then went on to say when she was engaged, she got really self conscious about people fawning over here about the engagement so she wasn’t 100% sure how to respond.
Anyway, I thought it was really nice of her to say something (although totally unnecessary) and I’m glad that she’s not upset with me for having shown her the ring.

Awww…, well at least she came and said something. That’s nice.

I’m so glad that everything worked out and fixed your relationship. She was probably beating herslf up over the comment.

@roxy821: I wasn’t going to let that one comment ruin a 2 year long friendship anyway. I thought it was really sweet she said something, although I realy didn’t think she needed to.

99% of the time, when people act in a weird way, it’s because of their sh*t, not because of anything you did.. I was going to pipe in on your other thread and say she was probably jealous or something and not to worry about it because you did nothing wrong. I’m glad it got resolved! 🙂

That’s really great she acknowledged her less-than-supportive behavior on her own. I think you had the right attitude.
